Apex Legends: everything we know about its Season 1 and the Battle Pass (updated)

Update 18 / 03 / 2019: Respawn has already confirmed the official details. Season 1 and the Battle Pass will arrive on March 19, 2019 alongside Octane, the first new legend. The Battle Pass price will be 950 Apex Coins. You have all the details here. Below you will find the original text before the update.

Apex Legends it's the game of the moment. I think at this point, after getting 50 million players in a month, there is little doubt about it. The expectation generated by anything related to it, especially if it refers to its new content, is enormous. Data miners rub their hands, rumors grow to exaggerated points and end up giving the most bizarre situations.

An example: the information extracted through data mining plus the appearance in Origin of an image with information about Season 1 and the Battle Pass ahead of time, made many assume that yesterday, Tuesday, March 12, it was going to be all available. It was not like that and some took it regularly ... when the reality is that Respawn has not given any date, we only know that it will arrive this month.

About the arrival date of Season 1 and the price of the Battle Pass

Let's first see what is the last thing that the study has said officially about these contents. This is what Respawn wrote yesterday on Reddit to shed some light on all the speculation and confusion that has been generated around them:

A lot of things have been mined from Apex since its launch through data mining and are making the rounds around the internet. We know this is fun to dig into and speculate on, but you shouldn't treat that information as a reliable source. There are things there that are very old, that we had tried in the past and that did not pass the cut (I remind you that our design process consists of making prototypes and testing ideas) and others that we could continue working on for Apex Legends. Finding these things does not mean in any case that they will see the light. At best you should treat any post on these topics as rumors, as the official information will come out of us when we are ready to show you what is coming. Thank you all for your patience. We're really looking forward to kicking off Season 1 and having you level up in that Battle Pass with a new Legend to master shortly.

They say it very clearly there: These contents will arrive shortly and we will know all the details. From the beginning, as we can see in this promotional image, we know that Season 1 will start this March, that the Battle Pass will arrive and that we will have access to new legends, new weapons and new loot with each season:

On the other hand, and according to the update leaked on Origin unintentionally on March 12, everything seems to point to that the cost of the Battle Pass will be 950 Apex Coins, which would translate into about 10 euros and would be online from other games like Fortnite. In this image, whose background is still available in Origin, appears the design of a character that, judging by all the information we have seen so far, fits with Octane, which could be the first new legend to arrive in the game.

What Respawn has confirmed so far about Season 1

Finally, Respawn confirmed last week a series of balance adjustments for several of the available legends that will arrive with Season 1: Pathfinder, Caustic and Gibraltar will have their hitboxes reduced and optimized to be more faithful to their models.

The rest of the announced adjustments are these:

    Caustic

    • Trap cooldown will drop from 30 seconds to 25 seconds.
    • Trap radius and proximity radius will be expanded by 10%
    • The one second delay that now exists before the Neox gas begins to deal damage to enemies will be removed.

    And for other characters:

    • Pathfinder: the number of beacons spread across the map will be increased from 10 to 12.
    • Lifeline- The small chance that aid packs will bring level 4 body armor or helmet will be removed.
    • Wraith: The cooldown of his Into the Void ability will be increased from 20 to 25 seconds.
    • Bangalore: The speed bonus of his passive ability will be reduced from the current 40% to 30%.

After seeing all this, I think it is worth remembering that Apex Legends has added a new weapon called Havoc and an update to its goal to slightly lower the power of two powerful weapons, the Wingman and the Peacekeeper, in just over a month since their launch on February 4.
