It was announced on June 5, 2021, during a promotional announcement on TikTok and GeekLab, however its release date is unknown at the moment. [1] [3]

History

Initial concept

In late 2020, Marie Mustonen, who previously participated in the development and design of the Angry Birds Friends video game, posted concept art for an early canceled sequel to Bad Piggies on her website. [4]

The conceptual arts featured a space-themed game, with Ross traveling through space with a ship built by him. It is believed that the levels would be set in space, with gameplay based on it, in a similar way to Angry Birds Space. [4] Rovio Entertainment confirmed in their contact form that this game was never officially produced. [5]

Ad

On June 5, 2021, an alleged advertisement was found on TikTok, which showed the new game of Bad Piggies 2, [2] [1] this same one featured three different versions of the same ad, one with the classic design, another with the Toons design, and another with the film. [6] On that same day the game was added to GeekLab as an upcoming brand new game by Rovio Entertainment, an app store that also contained Angry Birds Double Crossed and Angry Birds Launch It!. [3] This makes the current state of the video game unknown, although it is believed that it will be released in the near future.

Build the best flying / crawling / rolling / spinning / crashing vehicle and help pigs drive the vehicle to smash pigs in various levels causing destruction and mayhem wherever they go.

The King Pig is hungry and sends the pigs to discover the different cuisines of the world! Visit different biomes and look for the recipe for the star dish of that culture! The King Pig's hunger is endless, so the pigs must keep looking for new dishes to present to the King. [3]

Gameplay

According to the description of Bad Piggies 2 in the GeekLab article, it preserves much of the playability of the first game, where the player must collect and improve mechanical parts, in order to build a vehicle in different biomes. [3] The player will also be able to customize the appearance of the pigs with various accessories, with various levels. Based on the announcements, it is believed that Bad Piggies 2 will also allow customizing the design of the game, among which the player will be able to choose between the classic version, Toons, and the Angry Birds movie. [3]

In the ad trailer for Bad Piggies 2, it is also announced that the game will feature a weekly League in which the player will be able to compete against other opponents and earn better rewards based on their position, similar to the Cake Race mode from the first. game, although it is unknown if the weekly competition will be against bots or against real players. [3]

Curiosities

• Bad Piggies 2 is the fourth video game to be the direct sequel to another, the first was Angry Birds Star Wars II, the second was Angry Birds 2, and the third was Angry Birds POP Blast.
• The game was advertised in much the same way as the Angry Birds Double Crossed and Angry Birds Launch It! Video games through advertisements temporarily launched by Rovio Entertainment's social media.
• The Common Pig skin on the classic icon has the King Pig skin.
• A new bulldozer-like object can be seen in the three trailers with different designs, it is not known if this originally appeared in the game.
