La battle pass season 8 is an update to Fortnite Battle Royale that was released on February 28, 2019. The theme revolves around Pirates and Treasures. It's the first season Epic Games gave players the opportunity to receive a free Battle Pass at the #ShareTheLove event. He was rewarded for completing all "13 Overtime Challenges" in Battle Pass Season 7. Otherwise, the cost for the Battle Pass is 950 V-Bucks.
The ever-growing storyline dating back to Season 3 continues, with Wailing Woods exploding and being replaced by a volcano, summoned by The Prisoner. The pirates also find the island and destroy it and take over Lazy Links, replacing it with Lazy Lagoon and Sunny Steps. Wind holes begin to appear around the island, as well as lava. The unlucky building at Tilted Towers gets repaired (again). Later in the season, the pirates take over Snobby Shores and the government arrives in helicopters to unearth Loot Lake. The main villain of season 5/6 known as Kevin, the remains of the cube, are destroyed. Then a bunker is revealed. Excavation sites appear on the map (the most prominent being the neglected Dusty Divot). Eventually, it is revealed that all of these excavation sites are filled with lava, confirming the instability of the island, due to the volcano. Near the end of the season, Loot Lake opens, revealing that Vault and NEXUS (Kevin's son) are there. Players vote on a weapon to be dislodged and the Drum Gun is chosen, to some delight and dismay. After returning to the map, the volcano erupts and volcanic rocks hit and destroy Retail Row, Tilted Towers, as well as Polar Peak.
