CD Projekt RED will cover all physical returns of Cyberpunk 2077 out of its own pocket ... until the 21st

CD Projekt RED is committed to ensuring that anyone who wants to return their physical copy of Cyberpunk 2077 gets their money, even if the store disagrees. Even if they have to get money out of their coffers.

A week ago CD Projekt RED released Cyberpunk 2077, and the game was unanimously received by critics as one of the best games of the year, even of the entire generation. No one could imagine that, a week later, they would be pulling their coffers to cover game returns. 

After the initial confusion, both Sony and Microsoft confirmed that they would make an exception to their digital returns policy (returns of previously played digital games are not normally accepted, for obvious reasons). If you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 in digital format for PS4 and Xbox One, you can contact Sony and Microsoft to get a refund.

But what about the edits in Physical format? That depends on each store. And generally, stores also do not accept returns of games that have already been opened and used. This has happened, for example, with the GAME chain of stores, as indicated by the distributor in Spain.

But CD Projekt RED intends that no one is left without their money, even if that means covering all the cost themselves if the store disregards. "We want you to know that our intention is that each owner of a physical copy, or a digital copy purchased in a store, and who has valid proof of purchase, receives a refund. We will do it from our own pocket if necessary".

The process, if you do not get the return of your store, is to contact helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com, sending, of course, the purchase receipt. But yes, They will only accept return requests before December 21, next Monday. From that date they will contact all applicants again to continue with the process.

That is to say: if you have bought a PS4 or Xbox One copy of Cyberpunk 2077 and plan to give it away on the 24th for Christmas, then you will no longer be able to return it this way (as they explain, it is an alternative route in case the stores disagree, but they are the ones to contact first).

Remember that CD Projekt RED is working on patches and updates that fix the experience on consoles, which today, on the basic models of PS4 and Xbox One, is almost unplayable.
