Appearance

Chief is a deep orange wolf with a pointed snout, and perky ears. His paws and muzzle are white in color, and his ears tipped dark brown. His eyes are half closed. Initially, he wears the Red-Bar Tee (Sweater on shirt in New Horizons). On rainy days, he carries the Elegant Umbrella.

Personality

Cranky villagers will usually appear in a grouchy or agitated mood and are more difficult to befriend than most other villager types. When talking to the player, cranky villagers tend to become angry if the player disagrees with them or refuses to do a favor. Like all cranky villagers, Chief will be invested in his hobby and will often challenge the player to various competitions. He will easily get along with jock, snooty and other cranky villagers, and occasionally lazy and normal villagers as well. However, he will find it hard to socialize with peppy villagers, as they will seem overstimulated or immature. Chief will also enjoy spreading rumors about other villagers.

House

Initially Chief has a few beds in his house; but in games like Wild World, he has a bunch of clocks instead of beds. He favors robo and construction themed items and furniture. He has the Metal Floor and Industry Wall. If Chief has a stereo in his house, it will play DJ K.K.. The song's intense rhythm matches the theme of his house and his personality. In Animal Crossing, he has various Modern items, as well as an assortment of clocks.

In New Horizons, Chief's house gives off the impression that he's a fringe artist with a love for graffiti and calligraphy. He has a purple vinyl carpet in the center with several personal belongings like books and jewelry, along with a picture of Rockin' K.K., which also plays on his tape deck.

Chief's preferred theme is cool. His profile says:

He might seem abrasive and rude at first blush, but don't judge a wolf by his fur! Judge him by his teeth instead.

• At level 25, he will reward the player with sparkle stones (x1).
