Earthquake is a special rarity card from Clash Royale that can be obtained from the Jungle Arena arena (Arena 9).
Strategy
- Since the earthquake deals 300% more damage to buildings, it is an easy way to destroy buildings like Elixir Collector and Furnace for a positive Elixir exchange. It is very effective in removing buildings of similar cost, as it will generally remove them entirely without any additional help.
- The earthquake deals the most damage to Crown Towers per elixir in the game, making it very effective at taking down low health towers efficiently and allowing it to be valuable against decks without many buildings or swarm cards.
- It's usually not a good idea to use it on defense due to its low damage to troops, but in a pinch, the 50% slow effect can prevent the opponent's attack from destroying the tower.
- Against the Inferno Tower, Earthquake combined with a Bolt can severely damage it, if not completely eliminate it.
- It's also a great general "counter" for "Victory Condition" cards like Crossbow and Mortar, though you will need a little more to remove them completely.
- Combines best with Montapuercos and Real Puercos. Both are fast-moving troops that can take down buildings relatively quickly. The spell also deals enough damage to defeat the Skeletons in a single wave and completely destroys the Goblins with all three, making it difficult to attempt to support the building with cheap follow-up troops.
- Using the same principle, the Miner can pair well with the Earthquake. The spell's three-second duration gives it an area denial effect and can eliminate many of the swarms normally used to counter a Miner while dealing considerable damage to the Tower of Crowns.
Counterstrategy
- Against more expensive buildings like the Barbarian Hut, its effect is still valuable, but it won't always turn the tables on its own in favor of the attacker.
- The 50% slow effect does not stack with the slow of Ice Mage, Ice Golem, and Snowball.
- Compared to a Poison the spell cannot completely defeat troops such as Goblin throwers or the Pilla Girls.
