Ephemer

Ephemer is a character that appears in Kingdom Hearts χ. He is a mysterious wielder of the Keyblade who meets the Player during a mission in Albaburg.

History

Kingdom Hearts χ

After defeating an Invisible costly in Albaburg, Ephemer meets the Player and acknowledges that it has been a difficult match. He then introduces himself as a Keyblade warrior whose goal is to gather Lux for their Union. In the form of thanks for his support, he decides to reveal to the Player certain information that he himself had discovered.

So Ephemer tells the player that the different parts of Lux are fragments of the Albaburg Light and not from other worlds. These worlds are not real, but imitations or holograms existing in the interior of Albaburg. As it was impossible to travel through the vastness of Albaburg to gather Lux, a world that doesn't really exist was created to make collecting it easier. Ephemer adds that by investigating the structure of Albaburg, he has been able to discover that the origin of the non-real worlds is the Book of Prophecies that each Augur possesses.

Seeing that the Player does not understand the importance of this information, Ephemer explains that each member of a Union collects Lux without questioning why, so he began to investigate to discover the truth. However, it states that the objective of each Union is different, which complicates its investigations. The Player then remembers the nightmares he had involving the five Augurs and the Stranger and tells Ephemer about it. Very convinced, he proposes to the Player to investigate together, starting by going to the place where the Player's terrible dream is located. This one accepts the proposal and both leave to begin their expedition.

However, the Player does not know where the site he dreamed of is, so searching for it would be useless. Suddenly, he has a great interest in the city's clock tower and Ephemer tells him that he has never been inside it. The latter tells him that the two of them could go and find a way to enter. After several investigations, they find a hidden underground tunnel that leads to the tower under the stream of one of the streets of the city and no one hesitates to enter. The Player decides to go through it and Ephemer wishes him good luck because the path contained a multitude of Heartless. Unfortunately, neither of them can find out much due to the poor lighting of the tunnel, so they decide to continue the investigation another day.

On another occasion, the player meets with Ephemer in the square of Albaburg and the latter asks him to go to the Moguri shop to get some candles and light the tunnel, since he had previously been denied them. At that moment, the player enters the Moguri store and asks the owner of the store to borrow some candles. The Moguri agrees to lend him one in gratitude for all the player had done for him. Once they got what they wanted, they both headed back towards the tunnel.

Once there, a wave of the Heartless stalked them. To protect the candlelight, the player succeeds in taking down everyone, and thus being able to continue on his way. As they progressed, the player was finding himself more heartless, which he was defeating, but, on one occasion, an Invisible confronts him and manages to defeat the player. At that precise moment, Ephemer appears just in time to defend the player and defeat the Invisible. After this, the player continues on the road, but Ephemer stops him and tells him that they have done enough research for today and that it would soon be late. That's when Ephemer confesses to the player that they are great friends, despite being from different Unions, and they stay at the source to continue investigating tomorrow.

The next day, the player arrives at the source and waits for Ephemer, but Ephemer, even though he was very sorry, had gone off to investigate alone. During the player's eternal wait, Chirithy appears to encourage him and tell him that when a friend breaks a promise it is because something very important has had to happen. These words make the player happier.

In later story fragments, Ephemer appears seated at the fountain in Albaburg square next to the Augur of the Union Vulpes, whose original name is Ava. Ephemer asks him what the secret of the Book of Prophecies is, but Ava, who seems quite concerned, she replies that she cannot answer that question. After that question, Ava is upset and thinks that Ephemer is trying to abuse her trust by being the Augur who speaks the most, but he assures that it is not like that. Noticing Ephemer's honesty, the Augur calms down and tells him that he doesn't associate too much with his Union mates, to which the boy replies that he has made a strange new friend from a different Union and that she had stayed with him. the next day. So Ava advises him to rest for tomorrow's appointment and Ephemer, following the Augur's advice, leaves after telling him to recover.

Later, Ephemer meets the player, as they had agreed, in the town's fountain square. After apologizing several times, Ephemer assures that he has had important matters to attend to. Without further delay, the two head to the tower to investigate. Once there, Ephemer begins to fade. At that moment, the player wakes up and realizes that it was a dream and decides to go to the tower to investigate. Chirithy advises him not to go, because that is Augur territory and it is not the best time to investigate, as there have been problems between them. Disregarding these words, the player decides to go, but Chirithy follows him and insists that he should not remain in that place. At that moment, the player decides to look for clues about Ephemer in the surroundings. He asks another player and he answers that there is a meeting in the square. The player heads to that destination and talks to more players. They affirm to him that an Augure is going to reunite to several professional bearers of the Keyblade regardless of their Union. They also tell her that they have recently seen Ephemer talking to Master Ava, and that some friends will be able to tell her about her when they return from their mission.

Appearance

Ephemer is a young boy with blue eyes. His skin is pale and his hair is short and silver. He wears a red neck scarf, a white shirt, long brown pants with gray buttons, and a black jacket to match his gloves and boots. A gold belt goes around the bottom of his shirt. Carries one of the versions of Starlight.

Personality

It seems that Ephemer is very wise, as he knows a lot about the worlds and the various wielders of the Keyblade. He is also very curious and adventurous, he wants to discover the truth at all costs by conducting various investigations without fear of what might happen. Ephemer does not hesitate to protect his friends when they are in danger, so he can also consider himself brave.
