Un special event is a Roblox activity, in which users must meet certain objectives to receive a certain prize or reward. There are also endorsement events, where new movies or brands, generally kid-friendly, had time-limited events associated or themed with their product. They were superseded by Developer Events on May 14, 2019. Events returned to Roblox for the 2020 Egg Hunt, starting on January 11, 2020, according to a Roblox tweet about it.

Through this table, a list of the events that are currently taking place in ROBLOX will be made, which includes their respective prizes.

Types of events
- A contest was held on a certain date to encourage players to make a certain goal to win it. Winners were usually announced at the end and typically awarded a variety of Robux, Builders Club membership, or an event-related hat or gear (for example, Rally Domino Building Contest winners were awarded 5,000 Robux, Builders Club membership, and a domino crown for gold, 2,000 Robux and a domino crown for silver, and 1,000 Robux and a domino crown for bronze).
- Roblox can run a live stream on Twitch every time it reaches 25,000 Twitch followers. During these events, a notification will appear at the top of the Roblox website informing users to view your live stream. Occasionally, various items related to the event could be obtained for a limited time, usually through promotional codes. On some occasions, Roblox may put these items up for sale for a generally cheap price (for example, Transylvanian Hood was put up for sale during the Hotel Transylvania 2 livestream with Selena Gomez for 1 Tix).
- Sponsored events were a type of event that sponsors an upcoming TV series, movie, or game that is kid-friendly. Various games made by famous users can appear for the event and players would often have to obtain items related to the event before the event ended. These events were also heavily criticized because their awards were of poor quality and most of them were intended for children.
- An Egg Hunt develops when eggs appear in various featured games. The eggs that appear in the game usually have special abilities (like being able to kill players), while others do not, which makes them more difficult to obtain. Catalog items to buy may also be available for these events, but many of them only work for the game featured at the event.
Awards
Users to fulfill certain missions, in certain games, receive the respective game prize, in which after a certain time, it will not be possible, so you have to be aware not to miss any event. Although, there is a possibility that the event goes into a glitch state, in which you do not receive the prize and have to do the task again, or in that glitch state you can get the prize even though the event has already ended.

On April 2, 2019, Roblox announced that it would replace monthly and seasonal events with developer-created content to drive concurrent visitors to community-made games. This was heavily criticized due to the events being a longstanding tradition on Roblox. Along with this, Roblox had announced that they were no longer giving prizes for these developer-made games. This change took effect on May 13, 2019.
However, the events of Wonder Woman and the 2020 Egg Hunt shed some hope. Later Roblox would announce the final return of events, this possibly due to the strong criticism that Live-Ops had received.
