The decision to remove Legacy Aim Assist didn't come without warning. As early as March 6 Epic Games had made it known on the Fortnite Status twitter profile the impending removal of the aim assist system with the following words:
With the improvements we've made to the aim assist system, we plan to remove the "Use Old School Controls" option on March 13.

Much to the disappointment of many, this update did not happen on March 13. The following day, Epic Games posted the following message to explain the situation:
The "Use Old School Controls" setting will remain enabled for a short additional period of time. We will provide an update when the setting is removed.

Not even with today's update to Fortnite version 12.21 did this change occur, until a few hours ago, with the release of a patch, finally removing the old-school setting. Along with Fortnite's status update, it reminds players how to maintain the controller's sensitivity settings:
To use the new settings and keep the old-school sensitivities, select "Copy from old school" in the Controller Options and uncheck "Use old-school controls."

Now that players with controllers will be forced to use linear or exponential aim assist, how will the in-game dynamic change? Let us know yours in the comments.
