Golem to choose is a special rarity card from Clash Royale that can be obtained from the Electrovalle arena (Arena 11).
Details
- It is a melee troop that prioritizes structures and has moderate damage and hit points.
- To deploy an Elixir Golem card you need 3 Elixir.
- It is a massive-sized beast made of elixir that wears spiked chains and bears a certain resemblance to the Golem; his Golemites are smaller versions of it.
- Globs of Elixir are amorphous masses of elixir that when destroyed by the player (opponent) reward him with 1 unit of elixir each (for a total of 4).
Strategy
- Counting its divisions, the Elixir Golem has the highest Health / Cost ratio in the game at an astonishing 1408 health per unit of elixir. This coupled with its low cost of 3 Elixir allows it to be the center of many strategies.
- It also allows unique strategies because of this, like double tank or a cyclical deck with a large tank.
- The Elixir Golem must be used with extreme care and planning, because when totally destroyed it gives the opponent 4 elixir.
- This can be countered in a number of ways - protecting elixir globs means that the opponent will not be able to destroy them and gain elixir. If the opponent's elixir is full or about to be filled, all the destroyed globs will give elixir but without exceeding the 10 elixir mark, this means that the opponent can lose the extra elixir if he destroys it while at the limit. Making sure the opponent has the Elixir Golem counter out of rotation also means that it will take longer to destroy it.
- The Elixir Golem sub-units have half the health of the previous unit, meaning that for 3 elixir the player gains 3 times the amount of life of the Elixir Golem if the health of all units is counted.
- However, as each subsequent form increases the number of units, it makes total health less effective over time. For example, The Log will be able to lower the health of each of the Elixir Globs enough for a Tower of Princesses to eliminate them with one shot. When using spells to defend against an Elixir Golem attack, try to save the spells for the last two phases of the Elixir Golem to get the highest area damage value.
- Upon splitting, the Elixir Golem becomes weaker but faster, changing from a tank to a swarming "glass cannon" over time. This means combining it with cards like the Miner for the Elixir Golem to protect it and then for the Elixir Golem to protect the Golem once it splits.
- If an Elixir Golem or Elixir Golemite is destroyed, the troops attacking them will immediately switch to another target (if there is another) instead of attacking the new Elixir Golemites or Globs.
- The Elixir Golem is capable of dealing devastating damage to structures unlike the other two golem cards, especially by splitting up and attacking faster and faster. This makes it an excellent unit to deal damage, having high health, sub-units, and good damage for only 3 elixirs.
- If the opponent deploys an Elixir Golem, don't be afraid to spend more elixir than usual to counter it - the Elixir provided by the Elixir Globs will make up for the spend. If a low-cost tank destroyer like the Inferno Dragon or Mini PEKKA is used, it is possible to gain an elixir advantage from the opponent's play.
- It is not a good idea to use a Clone or a Mirror on the Elixir Golem. Doing this will cause more Globs to enter the battlefield, giving your opponent a chance to obtain more elixir.
- In general, when using the Elixir Golem in a deck, it is advisable to have a good defense to defend the counterattack of the extra elixir that your opponent will get.
- With an Elixir Golem deck, you'll generally want to play passively, use your troops to defend, and use the Elixir Golem to strike back with your surviving defensive troops.
