Appnimi RAR Password Unlocker (Windows/Mac)
The first among the useful resources for bypassing WinRAR password that I want recommended to try is Appnimi RAR Password Unlocker. It is a program available for both Windows and Mac, for a fee but available in a free trial version (the one I used to write this step) and very simple to use that allows you to find the secret words to use to protect RAR files through the brute force attack method and the dictionary method. Note that it needs the Java (for info, read my guide on how to install Java, in fact).
You ask me how to use it? I'll point it out to you right away. First of all, go to the Appnimi RAR Password Unlocker website, scroll the displayed page until you find the section Download Appnimi RAR Password Unlocker and presses the button Download for Windows (if you are using Windows) or on Download for Mac OS (if you are using a Mac).
When the download is complete, extract the compressed archive obtained in any potion and then if you are using Windows open the .exe file it contains. Then click on Si, its Next and I Agree, its install and finally presses on Finish. Then double-click on the program icon that has been added to your desktop in order to start it.
If you are using a Mac, after extracting the archive, drag the Appnimi RAR Password Unlocker icon inside it into the folder Applications of macOS. Then right click on it and choose apri twice in a row in order to circumvent the limitations imposed by Apple on non-blessed developers.
Now that you see the program window on your screen, type in the field Full Name that is your name below and in the field E-mail your e-mail address then click Get Free License Key, in order to require a license key to try the software for free.
Then access your e-mail box, open the message that was sent to you by Appnimi Support, take note of the license code it contains, paste it in the field below the entry License Key in the Appnimi RAR Password Unlocker window and press the button Activate.
Now, click the button Select File which is at the top and select the RAR archive on which you want to intervene. Then use the menus at the top of the window to set the mode of action of the attack to use (Brute Force), to adjust the keyword dictionary settings (Dictionary) and to change the settings relating to the length of the password, the characters used and so on (Options).
Finally, click on Start and wait for the program to find the password. When the procedure is completed, the password identified will be shown to you in the lower part of the window, corresponding to the item Recovered Password.
RAR Password Recovery Magic (Windows)
Do you use a PC with Windows installed and the above resource did not convince you in a particular way? So why not try to crack WinRAR passwords with RAR Password Recovery Magic. It is a paid program, however, available in a free trial version valid for 10 uses (the one I used to write this step) which allows you to force compressed archives in the format in question and to reveal the relative secret word used for protect them.
To use the program, the first step you must take is to connect to the relevant download page on the Softpedia website and click on the button Download which is at the top left. In the window that you will then see appear on the screen, press the button Softpedia Secure Download (US) to download the software to your PC.
When the download is complete, open the .exe file you just obtained and, in the window that opens, first click on Yes and then Next four consecutive times, on install and Finish, to finish the installation process and launch RAR Password Recovery Magic.
Click on the button now Continue test to start the free trial version of the software and access the main screen of the same. The program is very simple to use and has a very essential interface that facilitates all operations, so to submit a RAR file for its examination, all you have to do is press the button Open at the bottom, select the compressed archive for which to discover the password and start the "picking" of the same by clicking on the button Start.
Before starting the password recovery procedure, you can also adjust the settings of the brute force attack to be performed on the archive by clicking on the button Setting and putting the check mark next to the items relating to the characters that RAR Password Recovery Magic must look for in the password: Select letters for lowercase and uppercase letters, Select numbers for numbers and Select symbols for special characters. In fields Min e Max it is possible to adjust the minimum and maximum number of characters from which the password to be found can be composed, but the program usually automatically recognizes the length of the keywords.
At this point, all you have to do is have a nice cup of tea and wait for RAR Password Recovery Magic to do its job. When the operation is completed, the program will warn you with a sound and will show a message with the password of the RAR file that you gave it "at meal" (enclosed in square brackets). RAR Password Cracker (Windows)
Another great WinRAR password cracker tool that you can appeal to is RAR Password Cracker. It is a free program, for Windows operating systems and very easy to use that allows you to find the secret words used to protect archives compressed in the format in question using both the brute force and the dictionary method.
To use it, go to its website and click on the link Site #1: http://www.rarpasswordcracker.com/rpc421_setup.exe che trovi in corrispondenza della sezione Download and License Info in the center of the page, in order to download the software to your computer.
When the download is complete, open the .exe file obtained and click on Si. So press on Next twice, come on install, still on Next and then Finish.
Now that you see the RAR Password Cracker window on your desktop, click on NEXT and then on the button Load RAR Archive… which is at the top to select the RAR archive in relation to which you are interested in going to act. Therefore indicate the files part of the archive you want to extract and press the button Add to project which is lower down and then presses on NEXT.
Now, specify the type of attack you intend to exploit by choosing between Dictionary attack or Bruteforce attack I awarded her NEXT. In the first case, you will then have to choose the file for the dictionary you want to use by pressing on Add ..., adjust all the various settings and press again NEXT to kick off the procedure. In the second case, you will have to press the button Add ... to indicate the word set to use, adjust the other available settings and always press on NEXT.
Finally, specify the location to save the project file by clicking on the button Browse… I awarded her end. Then, when the password for your archive is found, you will receive a specific notice.
Password Recovery Bundle (Windows)
Password Recovery Bundle is another software belonging to the category that you can consider. It allows both WinRAR and ZIP archive passwords to be bypassed as well as various other types of password-protected files, such as PDFs. It has a nice user interface and is quite simple to use. It is paid but you can download it as a free trial version (the one I used to write this step).
To take advantage of it, first connect to the download page and click on the button Download at the top, so as to start downloading the software to your computer.
Then open the .exe file obtained and click on Si, its Next, its I Agree and install. To complete the setup, press the button Finish.
Wait a few moments for the program window to be visible on the desktop then press on the item Recover Passwords for Files and Archives, Choose ZIP Password Recovery and select the RAR archive on which you want to intervene by clicking on the button with the yellow folder and the [+] symbol.
Then use the menu under the heading Type of attack to indicate the type of attack you want to exploit to identify the password and define all the parameters of the case using the options attached to the tabs that you find further down (Range, Length, Dictionary, Auto save e Option).
Finally click on the button Start and wait for the procedure to find the password of the chosen RAR file to be started and completed. If everything went well, you will finally be shown the password to use in order to enter the compressed archive.
RarCrack (Linux)
Do you use a PC with Ubuntu installed (one of the most famous behind Linux in circulation)? Then none of the resources I told you about can be useful for bypassing the passwords of WinRAR archives as they are specific for Windows and Mac. In this case you need specific software, such as RarCrack. It's free, it finds the passwords not only of RAR files but also those of 7z and ZIP archives and uses the brute force system. The only thing you should be aware of is that it works from the command line.
To use it, go to the download page of the program, click on the button Download rarcrack-0.2 which is at the top right and click on Download last version in the new page you see appear, in order to download the software.
Then open the terminal, type the command sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ole.wolf/rarcrack Awards Submit on the keyboard, enter the password for your user account on Ubuntu and press the key again Submit twice.
Then enter the command sudo apt-get update and press the button again Submit on the PC keyboard then enter the command sudo apt-get install rarcrack and press again Submit. Finally, enter the command rarcrack followed by the name of the RAR file whose password you want to find (eg. rarcrack file.rar) and press the button again Submit.
Once this is done, the program will go into action and when it finds the password of the reference RAR archive it will report it to you through the Terminal window.
