John Doe y Jane Doe were test accounts created by ROBLOX founder David Baszucki in 2005, although their participation dates are listed as February 27, 2006. The name John Doe refers to an anonymous male, while Jane Doe refers to a female anonymous. John Doe's User ID is # 2, while Jane Doe's User ID is # 3.

During the early stages of ROBLOX, administrators used both accounts to accompany users playing ROBLOX. When someone entered a game, administrators would leave their current job and join the player's game. John Doe was last online on March 18, 2016, at 6:04 PM, while Jane Doe was last online on December 4, 2015, at 2:39 PM. Prior to this, both accounts were last seen online on February 27, 2006, at 3:06 PM (when ROBLOX officially left the alpha testing stage). Many ROBLOXians speculate that these accounts were accessed by password guessers. They were also seen online when many Robloxians saw them online and changed their avatar with Roblox Jacket and Black Jeans. John Doe wore the Roblox baseball cap and had no hair, while Jane Doe had Pinktastic hair and they changed the avatars around 10am on March 21, 2017 if you watched them online. Roblox also made a blog post.

    Rumors and Mysteries

    • Despite not being logged in to ROBLOX since 2006, John Doe and Jane Doe possessed user badges that were created in 2012 and accepted friend requests from users who joined in 2008. CloneTrooper1019 created a video that addresses how John Doe received badges instead due to a bug in the ROBLOX client that allowed users to receive badges without playing any games.
      • BADGRAPHIX also created a video explaining why John Doe was able to follow him. As with player badges, a bug in the ROBLOX web client allowed players to become friends with another player without both mutually agreeing to friendship.
    • In early 2017, rumors were running that John Doe and Jane Doe would hack ROBLOX on March 18, causing a massive panic throughout the game and on the site. It turned out to be false later. ROBLOX then analyzes the rumor in a blog post, updating its appearance and deleting its friend list.
    • John Doe then got 9 friends on his list while Jane Doe had 3 due to a bug that caused TheC0mmunity, IhaxLV, and Ananymoos to be some of his friends in September 2015, but they were later removed in late March 2017.
      • On the same date in 2018, many players "celebrated" the first anniversary of this myth by changing their Avatar to look like John Doe.
      • On July 4, 2017, John Doe traded in his light gray skin for a green torso. Jane Doe changed her skin completely to white on June 29, 2017. The color / leg color of the new skin is still blue, but is hidden by the Black Jeans.
    • As of September 30, 2017; John Doe has the sword of Marmora Hood. To get the chest, you must submit an entry from a robot using ROBLOX studio. It was given to users in August 2017. It is very mysterious that John Doe has this because he has not been online since March of that year. (ROBLOX admins were online, clearing their friends list and updating their avatar. Same thing happened with Jane Doe) If you use Roblox +, you can see that other old users have this too.
    • For unknown reasons, the content and description of John Doe was changed to [Content Removed] on April 19, probably an action by ROBLOX to convince players that the alleged hacker had been dealt with.
