Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Xehanort in his early years. He has traveled through time to guide Sora to a gruesome fate.

    History

Antes de Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Young Xehanort was a former resident of the Destiny Islands, on a sudden day looking out to sea a strange entity approached him claiming to be his Heartless from the future. Teaching him the powers of traveling through time and space, Ansem entrusted him with the task of looking for his other reincarnations and after completing his work, returning to his own time.

    Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

When Terra, Ventus, and Aqua go separately to the destroyed Departure Land, they turn around when they sense a presence, and there they find what appears to be a mirage, a hooded figure that challenges them.

After the stranger loses the battle, he seems to have vanished, but when he turns around he reappears, although he only seems to move away towards the ruins of the castle disappearing from view.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Possessing the ability to travel through time and dimensions, it is this ability that he uses to fulfill his mission of gathering all of Master Xehanort's vessels. Additionally, Yen Sid mentions that with the destruction of the Heartless and the Nobody, Xehanort's true self has returned.

From his first appearance the Young Xehanort begins to appear in all the worlds except in City of Passage (Revisited) and Country of the Musketeers.

    • In The Net with Sora, he appears near the end of the world, saying that he cannot save Tron, just then Xemnas appears from a dark hallway. After a talk Xemnas leaves and the Young Xehanort also.
    • In the City of Bells with Riku, he appears just before the last battle of the world, he emerges alongside Ansem, Seeker of Darkness. Barely speaking. Once Riku defeats Gargoyle, the two retreat.
    • In the Prankster's Paradise with Sora, he appears in the middle of the world, after saving Pinocchio from the Dream Eaters who imprisoned him in a circus.
    • In Symphony of Witchcraft with Riku just before the last battle of the world, he is confused by the fact that Riku has managed to block and lock the darkness of his heart. After that he summons Chernabog who is defeated by Riku.
    • In Symphony of Witchcraft with Sora near the end of the world, after finding the Sound Idea he confuses Sora and after that he leaves.

After sealing Riku and Sora the Seven Sleeping Locks, Young Xehanort returns to the Non-existent World. Young Xehanort makes an appearance before Sora, in the dream he explains to the apprentice how he came to obtain his powers to travel in time: Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, his future Heartless, arrived at Destiny Islands and explained what he should do; It would teach him to travel back in time to travel to the future and find the right people to contain a fragment of Xehanort's heart. Meanwhile Ansem would stay in that era, taking his place, and would wait until he reached his own time, freeing the Heartless through the worlds and being confronted by Sora until he closed the Gate of Darkness.

Before Young Xehanort says the second of his target, Sora reaches another part of the dream, in Pass City. There he sees many Sora and Young Xehanort explains that he has been to Pass City many times: on his first adventure, on his journey through memories, in the binarama and, in his dreams. All those times like déjà vu. City of Paso is like a connecting point in the heart of Sora. The place changes once more and Sora meets his Kingdom Hearts II clothes and sees Naminé, she tries to run away but Sora grabs her hand and then Naminé turns into Xion. Sora doesn't know who he is but Roxas reacts inside and Sora sheds a tear. After that Xion flees and Sora when chasing her meets Roxas, after a sad talk with the Nobody Sora continues and the memories of Ventus react and an illusion of Riku and Kairi becomes an illusion of Terra and Aqua and momentarily Sora becomes Ventus. After that Sora remembers when he met Aqua and this memory brings him out of sleep, Sora confronts Xigbar and he reveals that Organization XIII always had hearts, Xemnas appears and reveals that the reason for the Organization's existence is to be containers of the heart of Xehanort and that the Nobodies never stop having a heart, as this is regenerated by the incorporeal body.

Young Xehanort tells Sora the truth of his plans.

Sora does not want to let Xehanort get away with it and confronts Xemnas, after defeating him, Young Xehanort appears again and reveals that his fight against Xemnas allowed the Renegade Seal that he wears on his clothes to consume him in the dark. Young Xehanort tells Sora that the Renegade Seal is the χ, the χ of the Keyblade χ and it is something that the members of the Organization possess, thanks to it they always knew where Sora was, and after the fight against Xemnas it was this which allowed the darkness to consume Sora. Young Xehanort reveals the other part of the plan Ansem told him; After finding the members he needed to be containers for Xehanort's heart, he would return to his time and become the current Master Xehanort, not knowing that he created a paradox by traveling in time and returning later to take his place in time. , since I would forget everything because it is one of the conditions of time travel. Finally, Young Xehanort plunges Sora into a deep sleep unaware that Ventus's heart was protecting Sora for the moment with his armor.

Young Xehanort summons his Keyblade, trying to stop Riku and Mickey from taking Sora away.

Later, Young Xehanort would return to Where Nothing Meets to place Sora on Roxas' throne. When Riku arrives, he reveals to him that Sora will become the last member of New Organization XIII, thirteen containers of Xehanort's heart, the Dark Containers, the Thirteen Darknesses that when facing the Seven Lights would create the true Keyblade X, capable of invoking the one and only Kingdom Hearts. However, in the middle of the speech, Young Xehanort is surprised by Mickey who suddenly arrives stopping the stage time. Master Xehanort takes possession of the body of his future counterpart and not only gains immunity to the power of time, but also manages to summon a Keyblade, so he attacks Mickey and confronts Riku where it appears to be his Travel Control Point. in the time.

Young Xehanort vanishes along with the other members.

Even having been defeated, Young Xehanort manages to go back in time and regenerates, all returning to Where Nothing Meets, where Master Xehanort and the other vessels have appeared and Roxas' throne rises to make Sora the last. Dark Containers, but Lea appears and saves him. Riku and Mickey, who had been captured by Ansem and Xemnas respectively, manage to free themselves and thanks to the sudden appearance of Donald and Goofy, Ansem's Heartless Guardian is destroyed. Before that, it is revealed that another of the Dark Vessels is Saïx, who confronts Lea with no feelings anymore, and a surprised Lea manages to free herself from him. The true Organization XIII, including Master Xehanort, Young Xehanort, Xemnas, Ansem, Saïx, and Xigbar, each returns in their own time and Xehanort says that one day the Seven Lights will face off against their Dark Containers, his Thirteen Darknesses. After that they all leave and nothing is heard from Young Xehanort again, except that he became the current Master Xehanort and that he is one of the Dark Containers.

    Appearance

Stranger's (Young Xehanort) body is completely covered by a cape and hood equal to those of Organization XIII, and he has a tall, burly male build. He is a tall humanoid and does not speak at any time. He wields two weapons that bear a striking resemblance to Xemnas blades, but appear to have hilts, which Xemnas do not possess on his blades. The blades are made of light blue power and the handles are somewhat black reminiscent of the terminal and ruin of Ethereal Knives. The blades can be combined into a double blade, and they spread out like a whip. The Stranger wields these types of weapons with a reverse grip, similar to Ventus's unorthodox way with his Keyblade. The Stranger's body model is a copy of Saïx, although it is unknown if this has any deeper meaning.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance, it is revealed that he is actually a much younger version of Master Xehanort. He has silver hair, a sharp young face and yellow eyes, which symbolize the darkness of his heart, apparently he has a very important role in the plot of the game.

His appearance varies in the intro of KH: Birth by Sleep in a tank top and long pants and boots, and his peculiar long hair.

Below are terms whose translation is not official

His attacks differ a bit from those used in his last appearance, and he will appear stronger due to the fact that he will now control the stage and use his Keyblade. In the first phase of the fight against Riku he will use the following attacks:

Attack Description Force Side effect / Probability
Teleportation He teleports four times, going on to attack the fifth. In this way avoid your attacks. In addition, it has the property that in the first three teleports and in the fifth (just before attacking) it does not go back, but it does so in the fourth, thus being able to interrupt the attack. He attacks in 360º cuts multiple times, teleporting after each attack, a thrust and an upward slash. It is also possible for him to execute this attack by teleporting just once. Media No
Projectiles He uses his Spinning Keyblade to attack you and launch several waves of dark fire at you at the same time. Low Brake / 100%
Whip He transforms his Keyblade into a long whip and extends it forward with remarkable reach with an irregular shape that could resemble a box. If it reaches you inside, it can hit you multiple times causing you to lose most of your life, if not all. Very high No
Three cuts Transforms his Keyblade into a whip with which he attacks three times. Its range is acceptable, but it launches a projectile per attack that has much more range. Media No
Chuzos It generates multiple blocks of ice from the ground that rise. The screen goes white and they immediately surround you and dive at you when the screen returns to its normal state. Media No
Double jump It teleports and appears in front of you in the air and hits you with a downward slash with great force, to jump and repeat it a second time. The attack generates a projectile. Media No
Counterattack Protects himself with a shield from frontal attacks momentarily. If you hit him in this state he will attack without the possibility of defending you. Media No
Regeneration When he has 1 point of life left, stop time and create a clock in the center of the terrain. If you don't Reality Shift him in time (the time he leaves you is less than one second), Xehanort will start to restart the fight from the beginning and will recover a third of his total life. Zero No
Double attack * Two Xehanort clones appear with weapons similar to the Stranger's in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and simultaneously attack you with multiple hits. When they finish, two other clones take over. Alta No
Pillar of Fire * Two clones appear and generate a column of fire each around them and chase you. Hit multiple times. When they finish, two other clones take over. Media No
Igneous Cross * Two clones appear and make a cross-shaped cut. It starts to burn and moves like a projectile chasing you. When they finish, two other clones take over. Media No
Regeneration II * If you fail to beat the clock in a certain time (which depends on the difficulty of the game and the life remaining), the fight will start over from the beginning. However, the life of the watch will decrease each time you use this attack. Zero No

Asterisk attacks are performed once you successfully perform Reality Shift and fight the clock.

To defeat him instead of following him use Balloon ++ and when he is stunned attack him, another way to reach him is to have Obake Ghost in your dreamcatcher team, who can give you the ability to teleport and reach him without much effort, his attack of waves of Fire can be avoided with Somersault; his whip attack and Shadow Volley with Blocking. For the ice attack, do not approach him until you can see him again so his HP will decrease, but you must use a cartwheel so that nothing happens to you or that he does not appear near you. When he already has less than half a bar of VT, Young Xehanort will use regression and create a clock in the middle of the stage, go towards him and use the Mirage Breaker with the help of Sora to turn back the clock, if you stop it, that is, you end his 7 bars of VT; the combat will end. When the clones appear coming out of the clock use double flight and then Fiery Discharge, that will prevent your VT from decreasing, if you do not manage to stop it in time, the battle will restart but this time, Young Xehanort will only have 2 bars of VT, if you do not stop it quickly, it will return to use Regression, but each time you use it, the watch will have less VT.

    Curiosities

    • He is one of the bosses who has had the most speculation regarding his identity. It has come to have several possibilities, starting with Vanitas, going through Ansem the Wise and ending in Xehanort.
    • His true identity is that of the young Master Xehanort who appears in the trailers for Kingdom Hearts 3D.
    • Proof of their similarities with both characters are: their weapons, their great abilities in magic and their power to multiply into clones of darkness. In addition, the key to cataloging it lies in the ability of the young version of Xehanort to move in space and time and between dimensions, which can be seen in KH 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
    • His battle theme is a remix of Unknown's "Dark Impetus" on Birth by sleep, called "L'Impeto Oscuro", which curiously means "Dark Impetus" in Italian.
    • If we are based on FF, Unknown has a physical combat style very similar to that of Yitán, from Final Fantasy IX.
    • He is a wielder of the Keyblade, although Young Xehanort's Keyblade is revealed in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.
    • His amber eyes, as well as those of his other forms, seemed to be signs of yielding to the Darkness, however this does not seem very appropriate to Young Xehanort since not only is he very young but his techniques and abilities have more to do with it. with Light and Time. It is possible that the eye color of his other forms is due more to their being possessed by him than by the Darkness.
