El Lunar new year is a Korean event for Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It is celebrated on the first day of the lunar calendar, which does not coincide with the first day of the solar calendar.

Yut board that Cinnamon gives you
During the celebration of this event, there is a photo panel in the plaza, where the player can pose and take a photo. This panel shows an ancient ceremony known as jesa. During this day, Cinnamon will be in the town square and when spoken to, she will give the player an object, the yut board, a traditional Korean game.

The Korean New Year, commonly referred to as seol-lal (설날), is the first day of the lunar calendar. It is the most important traditional Korean holiday. It consists of a period of celebrations, which begin on New Year's Day.
Yutnori real
Korean New Year is generally a family holiday. The three holidays are used by many people to return to their native villages to visit their parents and relatives, where they perform an ancestral ritual called jesa. The jesa is a ceremony frequently practiced in Korea, it consists of a type of ancestor worship of the people who take part in the ceremony. The memorial services held on New Year's Day are called "charye." Koreans visit the graves of their ancestors and remove weeds from the graves. Then they offer food, fruit and wine, and finally they bow in front of the graves. Many Koreans dress in brightly colored traditional Korean clothing called hanbok.
During the Korean New Year, yutnori is played especially, a traditional Korean game that consists of throwing the "dice", which are four wooden sticks in the shape of a half moon, and moving the pieces according to the indicated number.
