A mailbox without letters.
The Mailbox is the place where you can receive letters from neighbors or from your friends that you can open and read. The mailbox has been present since the first installment of the saga. Carturo is in charge of delivering the letters. In New Leaf you will not be able to draw letters if you have a full pocket of letters, but there is an option to do it the moment you open the mailbox and you have no more space (You can throw away both those in the mailbox and those in your pocket letters), in New Horizons this option is suppressed as it increases the number of letters that can be stored in the mailbox. In New Leaf, the option to customize the mailbox to your liking is added, this option is still available in New Horizons if you expand your home.

Operation
The mailbox has a small blue panel that is primarily hidden from view of the player. That panel becomes visible and begins to emit flashing lights in the shape of a letter when there is a letter in your mailbox, read or not. When the mailbox has been emptied, the panel will automatically hide again and you will not be able to see it, when the mailbox is completely full it will start to make more constant noises and start to wobble as if it is about to explode. It usually contains letters mostly every day.
