MeepCity is a social gathering / role-playing game created by alexnewtron. It is inspired by the casual MMOs for children and displays features inspired by Disney's Toontown Online and Club Penguin, as well as many references to them. Alexnewtron has played these games a lot in his youth, and they likely hold a special place in his heart that later became an inspiration for MeepCity.

Gameplay

The main objective of the game is to be a social or role-playing gathering place. This means that buying items or playing games is completely optional.

There is a currency called coins. Coins are used to personalize your home (such as colors, structure, and furniture), purchase and personalize your pet Meep, or purchase fishing rods.

Ways to get coins:

Sell fish, which is obtained by fishing, and get meep coins by playing the game.

Play games, like the minigame at Pizza Shack (currently closed), Star Ball, or MeepCity Racing.
Sell your flowers.
Stay in the game for a period of time and create a home with furniture and venture into the game.

Buy coins by clicking "Buy coins". Coins are converted from Robux.

The Plaza or the Neighborhood. The fishing areas have a water source and multiple piers.

To fish, you must walk to an unoccupied fishing pier. After going to the dock, you are equipped with a fishing pole. There are "dark spots" in the lake, which means there are fish in that area. You must cast your line on the dark spot, or make the dark spot reach your casting line, to get a fish. To do that, you must aim for the dark spot and charge energy. The more power you have, the further your line will be thrown.

When you cast your line over a dark spot or when a dark spot is heading towards your casting line, you will get a fish. Some fish are more valuable than others and will sell for more coins. You can only have a limited amount of fish (20 fish maximum) before your inventory, which is a bucket, is full. To sell your fish, you need to go to the pet store, go to the counter, select the "Sell Fish" button, and select the fish you want to sell. Selling fish frees up space, which means you can go back to fishing until your bucket is full.

Square

The Plaza is the area that you first spawn when you join a server. Also, La Plaza is the main hub for going to different locations in MeepCity (i.e. La Vecindad, La Plaza and Ciudad). The play area has two fishing areas, two costumes (teens and kids), party portal, pet store, furniture store, toy stall, home improvement store, and several benches to sit on.

Pet Shop

Pet Shop is where you adopt Meeps, buy Meep-related items, and sell your fish (obtained through fishing).

Meeps are sold for 100 coins and you can only buy one Meep. When choosing a Meep, you can choose what the name of the Meep will be and what color you want your Meep to be. Meeps are inspired by Club Penguin's Puffles, primarily due to their shape and eyes. The interior is also said to be based on the interior of the Club Penguin pet store, for example the carpet.
