The bushes (bush in English) are a kind of vegetation introduced in the old versions as an immovable element of the town and that reappear in Animal Crossing: New Leaf this time being able to treat in a similar way to the flowers and trees. They were absent in Wild World and Let's Go To The City and also do not appear in New Horizons.

In these games they are quite flat but extensive. They can be traversed, and as you run through them, leaves will jump. The color of the bushes varies according to the season: in spring and summer their leaves are light and dark green; in autumn they are brown and brown with a reddish hue; and in winter they are brown but poorer, with a grayish hue, in addition, they have snow. There are two types: unitary, that is, a single bush; and triple, three united bushes. Although they will not be very visible, the player can leave objects as if it were the ground.

The Common Cricket, House Cricket, Bell Cricket, and Grasshopper only appear inside bushes.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

In this game the bushes are much smaller but more varied, since there are different species (they differ in the type of leaves but also in the flowers and colors). In this game the bushes can be planted, with a growth rate similar to that of the trees but, unlike these, they can be planted next to other bushes and trees and also glued to the pavement. Most are obtained by buying them at the Florist for 120 berries, with the exception of the yellow and red hibiscus, endemic species of the tropical islands that can be bought randomly on Tortimer Island for between 5 and 7 medals.
