El Toy Day (Toy Day in English) is an event introduced in Animal Crossing, it is held once a year every December 24 (23 in Animal Crossing), the event is based on Christmas.

Animal Crossing: Population On The Rise!

On December 23, Tortimer will wait in front of the town's fountain (or square) and because in his time he had almost no toys and trying to make the world a happier place, he will give the player a toy, a Car of A toy if it is a boy or a Doll if it is a girl, as a way of congratulating him on your youth and vigor, and he will ask him not to get angry if he forgets to give him a gift on your birthday.

The player will also be able to meet Renato from 20:00, and he will give him a piece of furniture from the festive series if he talks to him. If the player wants more gifts, he can change his appearance, to fool Renato who will believe that he is a different person and give him another gift. So this process can be repeated until the series is obtained.

Animal Crossing: City Folk

In City Folk, weeks before the event, the neighbors will talk about how excited they are for the event and the player will also receive a letter from Renato the day before Toy Day. The event now runs on December 24 at 20:00 p.m. and ends at midnight. Before starting the neighbors will make comments to the player about today's special night and their activities or what they are going to eat. Renato will give the player a gift on that day and just like in Animal Crossing, the player can change their appearance in order to get more gifts.

To decide what gift to give the player, Renato will ask some questions about the player's interests. Renato will hide in unlit houses and occasionally outdoors. Normally, the player cannot enter houses without light, however on Toy Day the doors of the houses do not have signs so the player can enter to look for Renato.

In the month of December prior to Toy Day (between the 1st and 23rd), each neighbor of the Town will give the player two clues about the gift they want to receive on Toy Day. Each neighbor will mention a certain color in one conversation, while in another conversation, the type of gift. These clues are used to correctly identify and deliver the desired gift during the event.

Unlike the previous games, on Toy Day, the player must dress up in the festive outfit (based on Santa Claus / Father Christmas); The set includes the festive hat, the festive beard, the festive sweater and the festive boots (although the latter do not count), all can be purchased at the Hermanas Manitas and at Zapatería Betunio from December 1 to 23. However, during Toy Day all the pieces of the festive outfit are sold at Hermanas Manitas and at the Betunio Shoe Store.

Once the player has dressed up as Santa Claus, the player can speak to Renato and Renato will give the player a magical gift bag, containing all the items requested by the villagers. If an item is not delivered, the bag breaks after 6:00 the next day.

After delivering all the items to the neighbors, the player can speak to Renato to receive a festive wreath. If the player delivers all the gifts correctly, Renato will mail his photo to him the next day.
