    Rain in New Leaf

El climate It forms a fairly important visual part of the Animal Crossing series. Like real life weather, it changes often and generally reflects the four temperate seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. The weather and the season influence the appearance of certain sayings and fish. The weather is regularly mentioned by Neighbors, with rainy weather making them miserable and warm weather making them happy.

The two main forms of climate are precipitation and cloud cover. The weather also covers thunderstorms, rainbows, and Meteor Shower.

The weather saw a substantial improvement in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The intensity of rainfall varies more often, and clouds appear differently at different times, for example, during hot weather, light clouds in the sky will appear more brown and 'dusty', like a haze, especially at dusk .

    Summary

    Weather

The town's climate varies throughout the year.

In January and February, rainfall falls as snow. The snow settles on the ground. Towards the end of February, the snow begins to melt and the rain begins to fall.

March and April are the spring months, consisting of moderate rains that occur fairly regularly. However, in May and June, things change; This is the rainy season, where rain falls on most days, and thunderstorms will be common.

The dry season occurs in early July through September. There will be little rain in just a few days a month. Care should be taken and watering the plants regularly during the summer.

Moderate amounts of rain will occur regularly in October through mid-November. Snowfall occurs in late November, but heavy snow won't occur until early December. Snow falls regularly in December, being a bit more common around Toy Day. In New Leaf and New Horizons there are giant snowflakes that can be caught with a Net.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons the weather system changes. Every day, at 5 in the morning, which is when the day in the game begins, the time of that day in the game is decided. In this game, the wind states are also introduced which can be: calm, marine, terrestrial, marine weak, terrestrial weak, marine strong and terrestrial strong. By times of the year, the characteristics of the weather are as follows:

    • JANUARY 1-FEBRUARY 24

The first four days of the year (1,2,3 and January 4) it will not snow. The weather will be sunny and generally clear. From January 5 to February 23, most days will be sunny and clear, although there will also be some days that will snow with intensity, desire and persistence, and others that will alternate clouds, clearings and snow showers, which can be occasionally intense.

    • FEBRUARY 24-JUNE 15

As of February 24, the weather changes. Rain will replace snow and until March 31, mostly sunny and variable days will alternate. A storm could even fall for the month of March. From April 1 to 10, coinciding with the flowering of the island's cherry trees, it will not rain. The weather will be sunny and at most the sky will be covered with some clouds. From the 11th to the 15th of June, the predominant weather will be sunny by far, but there will also be days of rain accompanied in many cases of storms. The frequency of days with variable weather also increases.

    • JUNE 15-SEPTEMBER 1

From June 15 to July 5, the weather changes radically. This will be the rainiest season of the year. Rain will predominate and will be frequently accompanied by a storm. Sunny, variable or cloudy days will also occur but to a much lesser extent. From July 6 to July 31, the weather changes and sunny days will be the norm. There may be a cloudy, variable or rainy day but very occasionally. Same trend in the month of August, it will be the sunniest time of the year and almost every day will be sunny. To a lesser extent, there will be variable days and you could rarely see rainy or cloudy days. Already in the first half of September the weather will undergo changes. The long and successive sunny days of August will be replaced by a majority of sunny and clear days, more frequent variable days and some rainy days.

    • SEPTEMBER 15-NOVEMBER 25

In the second half of September the number of sunny and cloudy days will slightly increase and there will be fewer rainy and variable days. From the first day of October until November 15, sunny days will increase their presence even more, but rainy days will also be more common. Variable days will also be more common. From November 16 to 25, there will be almost all sunny days. The days that are not sunny, at this time they will always be cloudy but no precipitation will fall. The cold is going to start to make itself felt since winter is imminent (it starts on November 25). From that day on, it will not rain on the island again until at least February 25.

    • NOVEMBER 26-DECEMBER 9

From November 26 to December 9, being winter, the sunny days collapse, although they will continue to be the majority. Snow can appear as early as the 26th and there are high chances of seeing it even at this time. Even so, and despite all the snow that falls, it will not set, that is, it will not settle on the ground. There will be days of more intense snow and other days the precipitation in the form of snow will be softer. And of course, there could also be (very rare) cloudy days without precipitation or more normally variable days alternating clouds, clearings and occasional snow showers.

    • DECEMBER 10

On December 10 everything will change. With 100% probability and from first thing in the morning, a snowstorm will shake your island in a virulent way. There will be times of lighter and more intense snow and it may even stop for an hour, but the snow will tend to be copious and intense. As a peculiarity, the snow will settle on the ground of the island the next morning. In addition, until February 24 more snow storms may occur. From the next day, the snow will remain until February 24 on the ground.

    • DECEMBER 11-DECEMBER 30

In addition, the weather changes from that day on, because from December 11 to December 23, the weather will consist of equal parts of snow days, sunny days and the occasional variable day: clouds, clearings and some snow showers. From December 24 to 30, the snow is again assured. Those days there will be no sunny days and on some of them it will snow all day. In addition, there is the possibility of a snowstorm.

    • DECEMBER 31

On December 31 it will stop snowing and the whole day will be sunny to celebrate the New Year correctly.

    Clouds

    Weather

    Clouds in City Folk

Clouds are an important visual part of the series. In Animal Crossing, the sky is only seen once on the train, where it is always cloudy. This section only applies to Animal Crossing: Wild World, City Folk, and New Leaf.

Clouds appear as ovals evenly in Wild World. In City Folk, they have a more realistic shape, which is kept in New Leaf.

Clouds appear in six different stages of thickness:

    • No clouds: There are no clouds in the sky. The sky appears bright blue, or, at night, full of stars.
    • Clear - Similar to above, but with faint and infrequent specks of white clouds crawling across the sky.
    • Scattered: Notable white clouds in the sky, scattered but still frequent.
    • Fragmented - a fairly substantial cloud layer and a lower brightness level. The sky is generally blue during the day or starry at night in breaks between the clouds.
    • Dense: A packed cloud with gaps in the cover. Low light level and less visibility. If there is rain or snow, the clouds are steel gray.
    • Complete: They are steel gray and heavy with only small tears in the cloud. Always having rain or snow. Low visibility, the horizon appears opaque and hazy.
    • Storm - Similar to Full, but rarer and with absolutely no gaps in the cloud and a lower light level and visibility, with occasional flashes of lightning and rumble of thunder. Always enduring very heavy rains. It usually occurs during the height of summer, especially May, June and early July.
    Weather

Cumulus clouds on New Leaf Island

The clouds appear white in the day, unless they carry precipitation, over which they are steel gray. Clouds at night are a darker shade of gray, regardless of whether they carry precipitation. Cloud cover also gives an indication of what the weather will be like in the next few hours. Dark, thick clouds usually mean incoming rain, while a light cloud usually means the skies will clear later.

Clouds always fly north. This contradicts the flapping of the Town's flag and the displacement of balloons across the sky, although this can be explained by the fact that high-level winds are often different from ground-level winds.

In New Leaf, some soaring vertical clouds known as cumulonimbus clouds can appear in the sky between 9:00 and 15:00 in the month of August. They can also appear at any time of the year during Island Tours. They will appear very large and you will see mountains in the background like clouds.

    Precipitation

Precipitation consists of any form of hydrometeor that falls from the atmosphere and reaches the earth's surface, in this case, rain or snow. Although rain is the common precipitation for most of the year, in the winter months it is replaced by snow.

Rain falls from mid-February to early December, while snow falls from mid-November to late February, though it is only heavy enough to settle to the ground from early December onwards. During the months of November and February, both rain and snow can occur; It can be rainy one day and snowy the next, or vice versa.

    Fog

Fog is often a prelude to major thunderstorms. Objects in the distance are shrouded in a faint gray haze. When fog appears, the rain often follows in the next hour.

    Rain

Rain is the second most common form of weather, varying in abundance throughout the year. In May and June rain is often thought to be more common, but after July it is often considered a "dry season" where rain is rarer until September.

The presence of rain is necessary to find Gyroids and Coelacanths. The flowers that are present during this weather are automatically watered. During the rain, the music of the game changes.

    Snow

    Weather Weather

    Snowstorm at New Leaf

Snow is a specific form of winter weather. The first snow can appear in late November, as early as the 25th, and can begin to cling to the ground on December 10. The white snow on the grass melts just before the end of February. Snow is slightly more common around Toy Day, where, on New Leaf, there are giant snowflakes that can be captured with a Net, but otherwise there is very little difference in snowfall levels during winter. Thunderstorms do not occur, since thunderstorms are not found in the winter.

Settled snow is a feature of winter and appears in equal abundance, regardless of visual snowfall, which covers the roofs of buildings, trees, rocks, and grass. Snowballs are the most important feature related to the presence of snow.

During snowy weather, Neighbors may mention the snow or the fact that it is cold. Some Neighbors like the snow, but most of them complain about the cold conditions. As with rain, snow hydrates flowers without the need for a watering can. In addition, the musical themes change slightly due to the snow.

    Other climates

This section covers any other form of weather not yet covered, such as rainbows, thunderstorms, and even meteor showers.

    Rainbow

    Weather Weather

    Rainbow in New Leaf

Rainbows can be seen very occasionally in the sky. They only appear when the sky has suddenly cleared after many hours of heavy rain or snow. They do not occur if the sky gradually clears, nor do they occur at night, but they are more likely to occur after a storm suddenly ends than any other form of precipitation. Because they always come after many hours of rain, they are most common in the afternoon. Rainbows can appear anytime between 11:00 AM and 15:00 PM. Rainbow season begins on February 25 and ends on November 25, which means there are no rainbows all winter.

    Weather Weather

The rainbow fills the sky for a whole hour after the rain ends. It starts out weak, before brightening as the hour progresses, reaching its brightest peak at half an hour. From this point on, it tends to fade slowly, before completely disappearing at the beginning of the next hour.

While there is a rainbow in the sky, the chances of 100 Berries falling from the trees increase.

They appear in all games, although in Animal Crossing, the rainbow appears near a waterfall, since the sky is not visible in that game.

    Double arch

Double Rainbows only occur in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and are exceptionally rare. They appear as a bright rainbow, with another slightly fainter rainbow located directly above it.

    Electric storm

Thunderstorms are a severe form of weather that is present in all games. During a thunderstorm, the clouds are darker and thicker than usual, and the horizon appears cloudier than normal. Rain falls harder, and lightning bolts commonly illuminate the ground, followed by rumbles of thunder.

Thunderstorms can be easy to find, but it depends on what time of year it is. During the summer rainy season of May and June, they are very common, usually occurring towards the end of the day. However, outside of this period, they are quite rare. In winter, they do not occur at all.

    Luvia de meteoros

Although not technically a weather, meteorites are treated as such in Animal Crossing. They occur on random nights of the year, starting at 19:00 p.m. and last until late at night. Meteors can be desired by pressing "A"; The Desirer will receive a gift from the Shooting Star the next day.

    Effects

In all games in the Animal Crossing series, weather, particularly precipitation, influences the wildlife in the game.

    Fish

In general, rain and snow are considered to stimulate the rarer fish to appear in Animal Crossing games, as this weather increases the chances of fish appearing in general (as indicated by signs throughout the series) . A very rare fish is the Coelacanth, which only appears when it rains or snows.

    Bichos

Many insects do not appear during the rain, such as butterflies, the Scorpion, the Tarantula and the dragonflies. In contrast, the Snail can only be found when it is raining. Cicadas can still be found when it's raining, but they don't make any noise.

The dung beetle is the only insect that depends on snow; It appears exclusively when snow is on the ground, so it can only be found by rolling snowballs on the ground.

    Flores

Both rain and snow automatically hydrate flowers, without the need for a watering can.

    Weather forecast

    Warnings

At the beginning of each new major weather system, a note is left on the bulletin board to inform the player of its imminent arrival.

    • Snow Warning - This weather advisory warns of an approaching snowstorm. It appears in early December, two days before the snow first settles on the ground.
    • New Year's Weather - This newsletter provides information on the weather in mid-winter, mid-January. It contains information on upcoming snow levels, temperatures, and the potential for ponds to freeze. Despite the warning, the water does not freeze.
    • May Weather Forecast: This advisory appears the first Wednesday in May. Heralds the arrival of the rainy season, during which it rains regularly and thunderstorms are common. It also states that the temperature will start to rise for the summer.
    • July Weather Forecast: This forecast appears on July 1. He claims that the rainy season "is about to end", and after that it will get "hot, hot, HOT!". Heralds the arrival of the hot, dry season that takes place during the rest of the summer.
    • Meteor Shower: Although meteors are not a weather system, this note is labeled as a "weather warning" on the bulletin board. It appears in the morning of a meteor shower, which occurs on random days of the year.

    Weather forecast

In addition to weather warnings, it is regularly forecast on television. The weather forecast appears five times a day (starting at 6:45, 7:45, 11:45, 18:45, and 22:45), lasting fifteen minutes each. The weather forecast accurately shows what the weather will be like the next day using a symbol, such as a sun, raindrop, snowflake, or lightning bolt. However, the weather forecast cannot show the weather at different times of the day, so it is just a generalization of all day weather. Despite this, it is always correct.

    Curiosities

    • Unlike City Folk, Meteorites only appear on their own in Wild World. They can be desired by pressing the "A" button as it makes its way through the sky. It is only possible to do this when there are no objects. This will cause a gift to be mailed to the Player, containing a featured item that is generally only available in the Tom Nook Store.
    • Although not technically a weather, a great feature in the sky during winter (while the snow is on the ground) is the Northern Lights. They are always the same and last about an hour in New Leaf, and in City Folk they can be seen from 20:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m. In New Leaf, they can be seen all winter, but are most common in early to mid-February.
    • In both Wild World and City Folk, the sky clears when a fireworks display goes on. Meteorites only appear on clear nights, and are accompanied by a scintillating noise.
    • In the Town area in City Folk, the climate is often different from that of the Player Town. Snow does not settle in the City, but it does on the bus that drives to and from it. If it is raining in the City, the animals will carry umbrellas.
    • Confetti continually falls from the sky during Carnival at City Folk. On this day, the sky tends to be very clear: any falling snow would conflict with falling confetti.
    • Only on Halloween night does the sky turn purple, this feature is only available in New Horizons.
    • Starting April 6-8 at City Folk and Animal Crossing, tree blossoms float in the sky, just like they do during Carnival confetti. The sky is clear these days. On the 9th, trees turn green again and flowers stop falling.
    • In the original Animal Crossing, the rainy weather music is an arrangement of the main theme; This song plays regardless of the time of day. From Wild World, a glockenspiel-based arrangement of the current time theme is played instead.
    • In New Leaf, many weather changes occur on November 25. On the 25th, the rain changes to snowfall. In addition to this, the grass becomes dull, changing from a deep red to a light brown, and the foliage also dulls slightly. And finally, the rainbow season ends. All these changes symbolize the end of autumn and the beginning of a new season (Winter).
    • In New Leaf, the game generates the psychic randomness of the weather by taking the date, as well as the mayor's IDs.
    • When it rains, the messages to catch fish or insects may be different, Neighbors will react to the weather as already mentioned, comment on the weather, use umbrellas, and puffs of smoke will appear when it is cold.
    • In New Leaf, the fishing tournament is held on December 10 every two years, preventing the anticipated blizzard from happening. Despite the lack of snow, the snow will continue to appear on the ground the next day.
