What will it be like to play Fortnite on PS5 and Xbox Series X?

While Xbox Series X / S will be available worldwide from the November 10th, the PS5 will be released in North America on November 12 and in Europe on November 19, but luckily from day one we can download the new version of Fortnite for the new consoles and with many improvements.

Unlike other generational changes, the transition from current consoles to new ones will be less spectacular, with titles that will go between intergenerational versions and among them Fortnite will stand out. This is positive in terms of community to not leave anyone behind, but negative in creativity since it limits developers to include changes to avoid incompatibilities.

• You will notice the change less if you have an Xbox Series S since it will offer a resolution up to 1080p running at 60 fps, although it will reproduce practically the same physical and visual improvements of the superior model.
• Loading times will be practically non-existent. You will no longer have to wait your regulation two or three minutes to enter a game, and now they will be practically almost instantaneous, something that your patience will appreciate.
• The split screen is also improved and now supports 60fps.

Fortnite for PS5

• Higher playable investment with the DualSense controller, since the haptic feedback will make us feel as if we are holding any type of weapon. It also has general vibration support, integrating haptic trigger feedback for ranged weapons.
• Fortnite is compatible with PS5 activities, which gives us the ability to go directly to the lobby according to the mode that we have selected as a favorite.

As you can see, the PS5 version has some additional advantage over the Xbox Series version.

We will keep all progress

You should not worry, because you will keep all the progress you have in Fortnite if you use the same account. This way the crossplay remains available and our progression and purchased cosmetics will be carried over to the new platforms.

• In Xbox Series, all you have to do is transfer your profile, and then download the new version of the game.
• On PS5 you must download the new version of the game and log in with your Epic or PlayStation Network account.

Future graphical enhancements

Although the next-gen version of Fortnite will continue to run under the same graphics engine, it is expected that in 2021 Epic Games will dare to make the leap and update these versions to Unreal Engine 5.

But will the change be worth it?

We are not talking about a new video game, but about a new version that basically improves the lighting, the rate of frames per second, the resolution and the textures, but that practically remains playable with what supposedly there should be no advantages in this regard. beyond the minimum aspects related to the control commands.

The change will always be better, since it will also enhance the fun by being able to enjoy our relevant Fortnite games under a more striking graphic environment.
