Ansem, the Seeker of Darkness it is Xehanort's Heartless born from Terra-Xehanort, very similar to the latter's incorporeal. He is the main antagonist of Kingdom Hearts and the story of "Reverse / Rebirth" from Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.

As the "Seeker of Darkness", Ansem is the supreme leader of the Heartless, and is the most powerful and intelligent of his class. You have full control over the dark and can use it to its full potential. This allows him to (among other things) create powerful blasts of dark energy, enhance his physical prowess, navigate the worlds through the Corridors of Darkness, steal the hearts of worlds and their inhabitants, and possess other beings. , if they submit to his power. Personality

Ansem is, so far, one of the three Heartless with a human level of intelligence, the other two being Sora's and Scar's Heartless. His knowledge of worlds and hearts shows that Xehanort's great intellect and will have survived by becoming a Heartless. Ansem is cold, calculating, and utterly ruthless bearing great resemblance in his way of acting to the old master. He reveres knowledge above all things, and despises the ignorance of others.

His voice is monotonous, it only changes when he's scolding Sora for his ignorance, or enjoying his latest triumph. However, Ansem's scientific genius was blinded by an obsession with darkness. His arrogance ultimately led to his destruction when the door to Kingdom Hearts swung open, bathing him in light, seemingly killing him.

Because Ansem was born from the heart of Master Xehanort, he seems to share most of his personality traits with the elderly Keyblade Master, demonstrated by his choice of words when confronting Sora, Donald, and Goofy, and his desire to Find, open and seize the power of Kingdom Hearts.

Appearance

Before possessing Riku, Ansem was little more than a wandering and heartless ghost-like being and could only appear as a figure cloaked in a brown hooded robe. This cloak has two dark brown straps that cross over his shoulders and chest with five metal nails lining that strap. Due to his lack of a body, he appears much shorter and skinnier in this form and wears the hood of the suit to hide his lack of a face, giving him a ghostly appearance.

Like Xemnas, he closely resembles Xehanort, with dark skin, orange eyes, and long white hair. Her hair splits back into three spikes at the top in a back tupe shape very similar to Terra's tupe shape but reversed upward and lacks Xehanort's bangs.

Ansem wears a black jacket with a high collar. This jacket has a red and yellow inner lining. From the waist down it is gray and has several buttons that cover the hips, a belt around the waist, and a second that extends from the waist and up to the neck to connect to several smaller bands. On the upper part of the chest he wears the Heartless emblem in the form of a brooch, which supports the outer layer, fastened instead of a zipper or button. Beneath this cape, Ansem wears a thigh-length white vest. This vest is high-necked and exposes most of Ansem's chest, with three black buttons and two thin straps near the waist up while closing the three remaining buttons underneath are undone.

In addition, Ansem wears a type of wide brim under his arms, white gloves, with three buttons that cover the forearms and a gray band on each wrist. He also wears black pants and is tucked into knee-length boots. This outfit is practically the same as the one Old Master Xehanort wears, with the difference of the heartless symbol in the middle of his chest. When he fights he always carries his Heartless Guardian with him.

When Ansem transforms into the Chaotic World, he turns into a monstrous ship approximately eighty feet high. His clothes have disappeared, except for his pants, which have yellow stripes that give him a more uniform appearance. The emblem of the Heartless that was originally on Ansem's chest is now attached to cables attached to his back that he can use to rest in the Guardian's chest cavity. Additionally, he wields a double-bladed weapon, which resembles two Soul Eater joining together in the same hilt, with the blades facing opposite directions.

Arms

Ansem does not use a single exclusive weapon, however, after possessing Riku to achieve his physical form, he uses the Keyblade of people's hearts. However, he can only use this weapon while possessing the body of a Keyblade wielder, as he has yet to fully possess it.

Later, in the Chaotic World, he wields a massive weapon, created from two Soul Eaters sharing a hilt. It is presumed that after joining the new Organization XIII all its members can wield Keyblades as they are bearers of Xehanort's heart.

In addition to this, Ansem has always used energy waves and his Guardian Heartless at will, using it as a weapon and shield at the same time as Terra-Xehanort already did when he fought against Aqua.

Curiosities

• The design of the "Heartless ship" of Ansem (Guardian of Xehanort in the form of the Chaotic World) that you face in the final combat of Kingdom Hearts is based on the Sierra ship from Final Fantasy VII, modifying it to make it monstrous and organic.
• He is the only Heartless with the ability to possess a body. At the time he possessed Riku and thanks to him he obtained his current physical form which he retains as another body, being the container of the heart of his original self, Xehanort, joining the new Organization XIII.
• Originally it was not planned to create Ansem, because Maleficent was the main antagonist who starred in the most scenes, in addition to being the boss of the Disney villains. This is why Ansem is seen as a villain near the end of the game. This is because in the middle of the development of the game, the creators decided to give him the position of main antagonist.
