Yao

Yao He is one of the soldiers of the Chinese Imperial Army of the Land of Dragons sent to defeat Shan-Yu. He appears in Kingdom Hearts II alongside soldiers Chien Po and Ling.

History

Kingdom Hearts II

Yao first appears shortly after Sora and company enlist in the Chinese Army. While waiting in line to receive food, Yao pushes Sora and sneaks in, causing a fight between them.

Yao is later seen at the Summit carrying a rocket with intent to kill Shan-Yu. During the Shan-Yu invasion, Emperor Yao's Palace helps Captain Li Shang and other soldiers protect the Emperor.

In the end credits, Shang is seen sharing a romantic moment with Mulan, until the three soldiers, Chien Po, Yao, and Ling reveal that they are spying on them and they screw it up.

Appearance

Yao is a robust and very stocky man, with sideburns and black mustaches, he usually has bruises on his face due to the fights he has with some members of the army.

Personality

Yao is quite clumsy and does not usually do things well, but he is also very stubborn and also sometimes abuses his strength against the weakest, that if he can be gentle and kind when he proposes it.

Yao likes fighting the most, which is why he has a black eye. He fights in the Chinese Army with his friends Ling and Chien Po, with whom he begins to befriend Ping (Mulan).

Yao made her first appearance in 1998, with the Disney animated film Mulan. Yao was one of the recruited soldiers, at first he is seen as an abusive person but thanks to Li Shang's orders, he began to change a bit by becoming friends with Ling and Chien Po with Ping.

After they found out that Mulan was a woman and let her go home, Yao went with the rest of the Chinese army to the Imperial Palace. Later Mulan warns them that Shan-yu is still alive. Yao and his friends help Mulan defeat Shan-Yu. Finally he and Ling and Chien appear looking at the couple.
