Description

Every year we honor the best games, creators, and communities on Roblox. As we count your final votes, the doors open to a grand theater built just for this occasion: the sixth annual Bloxy Awards. The 6th Annual Bloxys (in Spanish, 6th annual edition of the Bloxys) is an event hosted by Roblox. It was announced on January 14, 2019, with a theater built by Hello Entertainment. There were over 30 different categories that users could have voted for.

On February 12, 2019, the game went public for the new event that featured a scavenger hunt and other arcade minigames to allow players to obtain items for their own avatar.

On February 23, 2019, the winners of the sixth annual Bloxys were announced in a live broadcast.

The awards were presented by English, Spanish and Portuguese speaking users.

The sixth annual Bloxys was criticized for extremely expensive seats. Many seats tripled in price compared to the 5th annual Bloxys. Many people saw it as very unfair and some even called it a scam, including Roblox YouTuber Cloutic (formerly ProjectSupreme). Another Roblox YouTuber, KonekoKitten, made a video criticizing the seat prices. The high prices meant that many seats did not sell, but after the discounts, almost all the seats were sold. Many users predicted that the seats would not sell out. After complaints from the community, the game developers finally cut seat prices by 35% and then 40%.

Many have criticized Roblox for including InquisitorMaster and ZaiLetsPlay in the Best Video Channel category, because they are unfavorable in the community with their content. Poke is also known to have clickbait on his channel.

Many have criticized the large number of nominated Simulator games, as all but one of the Best Breakout Game nominated games belonged to that genre. Roblox YouTubers have filed a lot of complaints about people nominated for awards like Poke nominated as a live streamer. It was argued if it should be on the list due to the last live broadcast in 2017. Poke later responded stating that this was true.

Some users who purchased seats and signs with personalized messages reported that their signs do not appear in the broadcast. Some users also claimed that the Glow Sticks they bought did not appear.

InquisitorMaster was also criticized for winning a Bloxy Award for Best Video Channel, as its videos are commonly said to promote online dating.

Curiosities

• Xander the Fox from Hallow's Eve 2018 returns as one of twelve Scavenger Hunt items.
• In the gutter to the left of the red carpet, there is an image of a clown. It is a reference to the Stephen King novel, IT.
• This is the first time the Bloxys have held an event for everyone to earn rewards by doing missions in the event game.
• A leaked hat called the Showtime Bloxy Popcorn Hat was expected to be used as a prize for this event. Instead, it was used as a promotional code.
• The cheapest seat you could buy was 250 Robux.
• At one point you could see a secret that said "Sub to Pewdiepie" as Nathorix saw it here.
• A brief preview of the Egg Hunt 2019 was shown during the Bloxys.
• The Tuxedo Cat item is now unobtainable, considering the player can no longer join Hello Entertainment members.
• The music used in the Guest Defense minigame is instrumental from Persona 5's 'Life Will Change'.
• The first hours in which the Event was launched, the DIY Golden Bloxy Wings could be obtained only by entering The Guest Defense game, the youtubers Betroner and Noangy could obtain it this way in this video, then they explained better how to get it later that many people accuse them of liars, the video here.
