Angry Birds 2

Angry Birds 2 (formerly called Angry Birds Under Pigstruction in Canada) is a game, the sequel to Angry Birds, released on March 5, 2015 in Canada and released on July 30, 2015 worldwide. There is also a version for Windows 10 released in September 2019. The game introduces new challenges and boss levels. Among the new features it has is that here the birds to be thrown can be chosen by the player, and there are cards with spells (which are like the original Power-Ups). A new bird named Silver also makes its debut.

Game mode

In this game, despite having the classic levels of throwing birds towards pig structures, here new changes are presented, such as that the level selection menu is on a map (as in Angry Birds Epic). When playing a level, the player has a group of cards, from which they can choose the bird they want to launch (although only from the birds that are unlocked). There is also a "Destroyerometer" which measures the destruction made of objects and pigs, and that when filled gives one more card, bird or spell, to the player. The game uses the limited life system, where at the end of lives you will have to wait a certain period of time (a life takes 30 minutes to regenerate), or buy lives to play again. There are 3 types of levels:

• Normal level: you have to eliminate all the pigs of this to complete it. (The first of this type is level 1).
• Difficult level: you have to eliminate all the pigs of this to complete it, although it is a bit more complicated (The first of this type is level 9).
• Boss level: In addition to eliminating all the pigs in the level, you have to defeat the boss pig that is at the end of it. (The first of its kind is level 5.)
• Score Level: you have to get the necessary points to complete the level. (The first of its kind is level 14).

Characters

Main Birds

• Red: he is a cardinal, the leader of the Flock, in this game, he has a power, which is sound waves that can knock down structures.
• Jay, Jake and Jim: they are a few triplets tiles whose power is to divide in 3, they destroy the glass more easily.
• Chuck: it is a canary that has the ability to accelerate drastically, and that can destroy wood more easily.
• Matilda: is a chicken with the ability to throw explosive eggs.
• Bomb: it is a crow with the ability to explode, it can destroy the stone more easily.
• Terence: it is a great bird that causes massive destruction to where it is thrown, and it can cause a lot of damage to chief pigs.
• Silver (First appearance): it is a falcon whose power is to make a turn in the air and then make a strong fall towards the ground.

Extra Birds

• Hal: When thrown, it will roll back in the same way as a boomerang, gaining more momentum.
• Stella: her ability consists of enclosing everything that surrounds her in bubbles that float upwards, so that these later burst and the objects and locked pigs fall towards the ground, suffering significant damage.
• Bubbles: his ability is to inflate himself to destroy what is inside and then explode.
• Leonard: his ability is to be able to spit and throw snot bombs three different times, touching the game screen.

Enemy Pigs

• Common Pig: it does not have any skills, there are three types of common pigs, Small Pigs, Medium Pigs and Large Pigs, depending on their size.
• Child Pig: inflate a balloon, which it uses to fly through the air and thus avoid the birds.
• Jetpack pig: flies with his jetpack when a bird approaches him, and then lands slowly using a parachute.
• Lady Sow: uses her umbrella to land softly on the ground without taking damage.
• Magician Pig - When a bird approaches it, it teleports to a safer location, swapping places with another piglet.
• Laser Pig - use a laser to transform birds into objects.
• Builder Pig - Throw screwdrivers at birds, which slow down their flight speed.
• Cape Pig: his helmet makes him more resistant to damage.
• Frozen Pig - Throw snowballs to stun birds.
• Pyromaniac Pig - Use a flamethrower to throw fire at the birds and stun them.
• Projector Pig - attract nearby birds with a tractor beam.
• Chemical Pig: transform all the blocks of the structure into a single type of material.
• Swimmer Pig: floats on the water with a life preserver.
• Diver Pig: can breathe underwater with scuba gear.
• Gravitational Pig: makes the objects around him float, and later fall.
• Explosive Pig: when hit it explodes, working in a similar way to TNT boxes.

Curiosities and Trivia

• All birds look like toons.
• It is the second game to use the life system, the first being Angry Birds POP!
• Here Cabo Pig does not appear, however there appear Little Pigs who wear similar helmets.
• It is the game with the most levels so far. The second is Angry Birds POP! and the third Angry Birds Seasons.
• Hal's skin is not the familiar Toons skin, but rather a new skin based on that of the original game.
• The sounds of pigs and birds have been taken from Angry Birds Toons.
• When Bubbles inflates, it is medium in size rather than large as it usually is
• The game appeared in a 2016 drama film called: Miracles of Heaven
• An in-game event was launched for the premiere of Angry Birds 2: The Movie.

Initial project

According to developer Måns Wilde, Rovio Entertainment originally planned to release a video game titled Angry Birds Big Adventure which would not be a sequel to the first Angry Birds game. This game would be set in time travel, including two periods which consisted of the Jurassic era, and the 1970s in the King's Diner restaurant. However, this would be canceled and Angry Birds 2 would be developed instead, but the concepts would be reused to create the Jurassic Pork episode in the classic Angry Birds game, while a similar game called Angry Birds Time Travel was released in China. .
