Angry Birds Reloaded is a video game of the Angry Birds saga developed by Rovio Entertainment, being released for the Apple Arcade of iOS, on July 16, 2021. [1] It was announced for the first time on June 15, 2021. [2] [3]

The video game remasters the levels of the classic Angry Birds game, and reuses the redesigns created for the Angry Birds Friends video game. [2] [3] It is set in the plot presented within Angry Birds 2: The Movie, as well as features opening episodes with events that occur in between the two films.

It has been described by Rovio Entertainment as a game inspired by classic gameplay. [4]

Description of the App Store

The most famous flock in the world has returned in a new version of the mobile game that took the world by storm. Join Red, Chuck, Bomb, Silver and the rest of the gang in classic slingshot action that will please fans of all ages. Angry Birds Reloaded presents a familiar gameplay based on the physics of the original game, now remastered with visual enhancements, new characters, and lots of destruction! [2]

The Pig King and his minions have stolen the eggs again and the birds will stop at nothing to get them back! Life on the island will never be the same again as the Angry Birds must face Pigs AND Eagles from the Angry Birds movies in a battle to save their eggs and home. [2]

History

On June 11, 2021, a short promotional teaser for the game was released by Angry Birds and Rovio Entertainment through their Twitter networks. In it, it showed Red and a pig facing each other, before an ice ball falls, in which it was announced that "something is coming", but without confirming that it was the new video game or the name. The Angry Birds Reloaded game was announced for the first time on June 15, 2021, through a statement from Rovio Entertainment where it was reported that the game was in development, scheduled to release softly in the Apple Arcade on iOS devices, without having a confirmed release date. [3]

That same day, the Angry Birds Reloaded video game was added to the iOS App Store, as an upcoming game, in which users can pre-register to be notified when the first Early Access is released. [2]

On July 9, 2021, Angry Birds officially announces through its Twitter account the release date of Angry Birds Reloaded for the Apple Arcade, being July 16, 2021, a week after the announcement, along with an advertising preview of the himself. [1] On July 16, 2021, the game was finally officially released within the iOS store, along with an advertising trailer on the Angry Birds YouTube channel. [6]

Gameplay

Angry Birds Reloaded has the classic Angry Birds slingshot gameplay, as it is set in the plot of Angry Birds 2: The movie as the main lore of the game, it will have levels set on Bird Island, Pig Island and Eagle Island, divided into episodes. Angry Birds Reloaded also uses many of the elements featured in Angry Birds Friends, including the revoned design used in it, as well as Power-ups, such as Wingman's ability and the parachute TNT.

The classic birds have the same abilities that they used in the other games, but the game also includes levels where the pigs Leonard, Courtney and Garry, act as playable characters with special abilities.

Playable characters

• Red, he has no special abilities.
• Chuck, when thrown, this can activate his impact speed.

Episodes

In the promotionals presented for Angry Birds Reloaded, the first 4 episodes were observed, which later appeared in the game. The game currently includes 7 episodes available, which are characterized by reusing and rearranging several of the levels of the classic Angry Birds episodes.

The plot and cutscenes of the first 7 episodes present a direct continuation of the events that occurred in Angry Birds: The Movie, showing the rivalry created between the birds and pigs, when they tried to invade Bird Island and steal the eggs again.

Curiosities

• Although Angry Birds Reloaded uses the renewed designs of Angry Birds Friends, Leonard has a different design than the one presented in the Prank Wars Tournament.
• The background of the levels set on Eagle Island appears to be reused from the Angry Birds Friends tournament, Operation Eagle Island Tournament.
