Angry Birds Star Wars

Angry Birds Star Wars is an Angry Birds game for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, which was released on November 8, 2012. The game was first shown on the Angry Birds Facebook page. The game parodies Star Wars, a film saga released in 1977 directed by George Lucas, and loosely follows the story.

Characters

Main playable

• Red: Luke Skywalker ( Red Skywalker ) : Red starts out with no abilities like in the other games, but gains a lightsaber early in the game that allows him to deal more damage over a wider radius of the scale by aiming the lightsaber. The lightsaber can be used to deflect laser shots from the pigs and will cause the shots to be returned to the pigs.                                       
• Stella: the Princesa Leia (Princesa Stella Organa): Sacrifices her bubbles for a new traction beam, Stella can use this to throw objects out of their original position, making the structure less stable.                                                                        

• Chuck: Han Solo (Chuck Solo): At the cost of losing his dash ability, Chuck becomes armed with a laser gun just as often used by pigs. Tapping anywhere on the screen will cause Chuck to fire three lasers in that direction, destroying objects but bouncing off metal blocks, while still dealing minor damage.    
• Terence: Chewbacca (Terebacca): Terence is still one of the strongest of the birds, but now he makes small tumors where he lands, which can misplace and damage nearby objects.                                                                                                               
• Bomb: Obi Wan Kenobi (Obi Wan Kaboomi): No longer able to explode, he is given the power of the "Force", which allows him to use telekinesis to throw blocks and debris at enemies. Later, this ability is upgraded, allowing you to throw objects further.                                                                                           
• The Blues: Rebel Pilots: Jay, Jake and Jim maintain their original multiplying ability from other games in the Angry Birds series, without improvements.
• Chuck (brown): Lando: At first, a non-playable one appeared but then it made its debut in the levels of the second part of Cloud City, when shooting it launches three rays.

• C-3PO : A Droid based on the appearance of Matilda, the main ability is self-destruction, detaching itself into five body parts like projectiles.   

• R2-D2: Based on R2-D2 slightly combining the appearance of an egg, different from the Angry Birds Space characters, the egg can no longer produce black holes, but instead emits an electrical discharge that can destroy any nearby pig in an instant. 

Non-playable birds

•  Yoda: A wise Jedi Master residing on the planet Dagobah. On the way of the Jedi, Red Skywalker had to travel to Dagobah in order to learn the ways of the Force from Yoda. Yoda was successful in teaching Red the ways of the Jedi at the end of the way of the Jedi.

• Jawas:  Minor characters who serve no purpose other than to sell R2-D2 and C-3PO for Red Skywalker.                                                                                                                     

Enemies

• Tusken Raider Pigs (Desert Dwellers): The weakest members of the Empire Pig. They are seen on the Tatooine levels.                             

• Cerdos Stormtroopers ( Pigtroopers ) : The main soldiers of the Pig Empire. They are capable of using precision laser guns from the Birds.
• TIE Fighter : They are TIE-Fighters from star wars, the main combat used by the Galactic Empire, but in the shape of a pig. These pigs float in space and are much more difficult to hit.
• Death Star Soldiers: soldiers.
• Imperial Officers: Empire officers, appear in Death Star.
• Mustache Pig: Chief Imperial Officer: just like the other officers.
• Snowtroopers: enemies in the episode Hoth.
• Probe droid: enemy in episode Hoth.
• AT-AT Commander: enemy in episode Hoth.
• Conductor de AT-AT: enemy in episode Hoth.
• Mynocks pigs- Exclusive to the Hoth episode (last level), these attack the Millennium Falcon while hiding from the Empire ships.

• Boba Fett- Bounty hunter hired by Vader to capture Han Solo, appears in Cloud City and has his own pay tiers.
• Scout Soldiers: appear in Moon of Endor.
• TIE Fighter pilots: appear in Death Star 2.

• Darth Vader ( Lord Vader/ Anakin skywalker ): The Evil Hybrid Pig Machine is a master at using the dark side of the Force. Vader was the main villain of the original Star Wars trilogy and plays the same role in Angry Birds Star Wars, but in the last level when you leave Emperor Palpatine badly injured, he turns on the side of the birds and launches a powerful attack.

• King Pig: Emperor Palpatine (Emperor Piglatine) : The Pig King plays the role of the emperor, the final boss of the last level and the main antagonist of Star Wars as a whole.

Gameplay

The game combines elements of Angry Birds and Angry Birds Space, with levels that take place both on normal terrain and in outer space. The game begins on Luke Skywalker's homeworld of Tatooine. With the exclusion of the bluebirds, the birds are given new powers not yet seen in a canonical Angry Birds title, some of them are getting better as the game progresses even more. One difference is that a bird can still exercise his / her chosen ability moments after turning into a corpse.

Discontinuation and removal of the game

On February 3, 2020, the announcement was made that Angry Birds Star Wars, like the second installment of it and Angry Birds Rio, would be suspended from the application stores, this due to a possible licensing problem. Since Lucasfilm Ltd., the creator of the Star Wars franchise, was bought and acquired by The Walt Disney Company, as well as 20th Century Fox, the studio that created the Rio films.

If someone tries to download the game through an APK on Android or by jailbreaking on iOS, or if they already had it installed, you will receive a notification that will redirect you to the thank you page on the Angry Birds website, but it will not appear again once you read it.

Curiosities

• Character's own special abilities can be used, for example, Red Skywalker with a click / touch the screen, he draws his lightsaber.
• It had been advertised on Facebook and in the Angry Birds Space in the Postman Pig advertising.
• There was a paid version in HD but it costs money; 4 euros approximately.
• In some levels gravity is also added as in Angry Birds Space.
• It is the second game with a movie theme (the first is Angry Birds Rio), and the third is Angry Birds Star Wars II.
• As in Angry Birds Space the pigs can be defeated by the freezing of outer space, but instead of turning blue from the freezing, they keep their green color, they only get ice crystals when they are about to explode.
• Red and Obi-Wan make their way through the Jundland debris, similar to LEGO Star Wars II. This is unlike in the movie, where Luke and Obi-Wan simply head to Obi-Wan's hut and without any encounters with the sand dwellers.
• Almost all the enemies in the game are pigs, probably to make the game more "Angry Birds" style.
• In Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope Obi-Wan / Ben Kenobi is killed by Darth Vader, but here he continues to appear in Hoth, Cloud City (these two from Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back), and in the Death Star II (this last one from Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi). It should be noted that in the final cinematic, his ghost appears along with that of Yoda and Anakin, hinting that he possibly died in the explosion of the Death Star II.
