Apex Legends launches its new season today. The long-awaited update of this first-person battle royale comes loaded with news; from a new legend, map changes, to a ranked system.

This new mode is about a ranked game system. These games are going to be the best place to play at a more competitive level. In this mode, players will push their skills to the limit to climb through the different ranks that are available. We explain how this new mode works.

The objective in this way is the implementation of a competitive system within the game. The matchmaking will bring together in the same game all those players who present a similar general level. Therefore, depending on the rank a player is in, he will not be favored or discredited by other players; all will be on an equal footing.

How the Apex Legends ranked system works

    Competitive series

Classification ranges will be established during specified competition periods. The first series will coincide with the duration of season 2 (July-September), but it will not necessarily be this way in the future. The series come to be something similar to the seasons of League of Legends and other competitive games.

    Classification Ranges

There are six ranks within Apex Legends: bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond and supreme predator. All levels except Supreme Predator have four levels each: Gold IV, Gold III, Gold II, and Gold I, for example. At the start of this new series, all players will start at Bronze IV.

    Tasting Scores

Players are promoted to different ranks using a scoring system. This score is measured in PC that are obtained during the games and are used to participate in games of the different ranks.

    • Bronze games are free.
    • Silver games cost 1 PC
    • Gold matches cost 2 PC
    • Platinum matches cost 3 PC
    • Diamond games cost 4 PCs
    • Supreme Predator matches cost 5 PC

PCs are obtained in different ways- Eliminations provide 1PC up to a maximum of 5PC per match. If you get to the top 10, you will get 2 PC, the top 5, 4 PC and the top 3, 7 PC. For the first position, you will receive 12 PCs. Each score is exclusive, therefore the maximum number of points available to win in a game is 17.

    Move up the rankings

The goal of this game mode is for players to move up the rank system. Once a different rank is reached, the player cannot be demoted to a lower league, but yes to a smaller division. That is, if you reach the silver rank, you will not be able to go down to bronze, but if you are silver I you can go down to silver IV.

    Rewards

At the moment, several badges corresponding to the different ranks to be achieved. Players will be able to wear the badges during their games. The Respawn team is currently working on creating new rewards for this game mode.

    Penalties

All players who abandon their teammates in the middle of the game will receive a temporary penalty in normal and ranked games. This penalty will increase the more this practice occurs by the player. Players who quit will have a reset that will relieve their CP.
