The athletic statue (robust statue in English) is a statue introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, whose real name is "Discobolus".
Description
The sculpture known as the Discóbolo de Mirón is part of the great treasures of the art of Classical Antiquity, along with pieces such as the Victory of Samothrace, Laocoon and his children and the Venus de Milo. Attributed to the sculptor Mirón de Eleuteras, it is probable that the Discobolus was originally made in bronze around 450 BC.
The knowledge of this sculpture has come to us through Roman copies. The best known and best accomplished of these copies was executed in marble and is currently in the National Roman Museum in Italy. This and the other copies allow us to have an idea of what the original sculpture could have looked like.
Falsification
↑ In the forgery, instead of a disk, it is a flying saucer that is holding the figure. ↑
