    Summary

    Public catalog

In the Public Domain section of the Catalog, you can find items sold by Roblox users. You can find, buy and sell favorite items. There are eight categories: heads, faces, equipment, accessories, jerseys, shirts, pants, packages. All categories show objects of that genre; eg In the Accessories section, you will only find accessories. You can also create your own items and sell them on your account, giving them to other users.

    Problems

When a player loses connection while in the catalog, a red box will appear at the top of the catalog, notifying them that the catalog is not available. When a Limited U item is listed in the catalog, they will rarely have the option not to buy, sell, and out of stock.

    Item types

In the For Sale section of the Catalog, you can find two types of special items currently being sold: LimitedU Items; Limited to a certain number of items until they are sold out. Limited items Limited to only a certain sale time, after that it will no longer be available for sale.

    Sponsored and free articles

Sponsored items generally sold for 1 Ticket, but since the Ticket removal, sponsor items are now free. Some sponsored items can only be obtained through promo codes for a limited time, or from time to time put up for sale (for example, the Transylvanian Hood could be obtained for a few days with the code "HOTELT2", but then went to the sale for 1 Tix). Free items are some of the best-selling items.

    Rental items

Rental items are items that have a set expiration date. Many equipments have expiration times, although these are not limited to gears but to other items in the catalog. Sponsored items like the Flintstones Car and The Amazing Spider-Man are rental items. They had rentals of 4 weeks and 2 weeks, respectively.

    Scheduled Items

Sometimes Roblox randomly makes multiple items for sale for a specified period of time, usually so that Roblox can focus on other items in the catalog. Some examples include the Artemis Bow Failure artifact item marked scheduled sometime during March or April 2016, and the Red ROBLOX Glider equipment item marked as scheduled in early July 2016. Some vacation related items or related items with a special event go on sale sometime before or during a holiday or special event and becomes scheduled, and will normally go on sale after the holiday or special event to which the catalog item. An example would be the Classic ROBLOX Pumpkin Head, which is only available during the month of October and will be postponed after Halloween is over. Some items are marked immediately long after they go on sale. For example, the Blue Sparkle Time Bowler was scheduled for one day for 5.000 Robux sometime during the end of June 2016. Occasionally, these items would later become limited items (usually during a sale, such as a Valentine's Day sale). President, a Memorial Day sale, a Labor Day sale, or a Black Friday sale).

    Article Comments

There is a comment box down at the bottom of the shopping page. Here players can post what they think of the item being sold. At the end of May 2016, comments were removed on every ROBLOX-created catalog item, but user-created content that has comments enabled is still visible.

    Article page

If a player clicks on an item that is displayed, the shopping page will be displayed. In the upper right corner of the item, a box will be displayed with a picture of the seller and the price. Each object has a category, which is displayed, along with a short description of the object.

    Deep catalog

The gear item page titled ".".

Deep catalog ("Deep catalog" translated into Spanish) is the name given by many players to strange items in the catalog. A notable item in the catalog is simply called Item, which is LimitedU. Also some items known as adslkasljdfla'd and? id = 1092097 The Void Star Gift Box. There is also an unnamed piece of equipment that only consists of a period in its title, which was never released for sale and is simply a blank gear item. Some players also imagine things and create creepypastas, but the real purpose of those items is to be test items.

    Trade currency

Until April 15, 2016, players could use the Change Currency button to redeem Tix for Robux. This often helped when purchasing Robux items, as it was a currency that only Builders Club members received in a grant. When a player purchases an item, it is added to their models, allowing them to use it in Roblox Studio.

    Review

As the clothing templates are easily accessible on the Roblox website, many designers face problems with copying. With many popular clothing items, users or clothing groups can create duplicate pages that want to split the original designer's sales on that design, leading to catalog spamming. Since there is no way to see original clothing items, players often unintentionally buy clothing that can be copied. Clothing designers often see less revenue from their clothing sales when their designs are copied.

    Elimination of Tickets

Each filtering bag tickets they were a currency that was awarded to a user when they logged into their account daily, with 10 tickets per day. Tickets can be used to purchase some items in the catalog, but they were removed on March 15, 2016. With the removal of Tickets as currency on Roblox, the only way to purchase items from the Roblox catalog is through Robux. Tickets were removed right after the Tixapalooza, causing many players to be forced to purchase Robux or Premium to purchase non-free items. Along with the removal of tickets, the Trade Currency feature was also removed.

    Floor price

Initially, clothing assets could be put up for sale for a minimum of one Ticket or one Robuck. A floor price was added in 2013 that raised the clothing floor price to 300 Tix or 25 Robux. The price floor on clothing is currently set at 2 Robux for T-shirts and 5 Robux for shirts and pants, many players cannot buy clothing without buying Robux or Premium.

    Name change

On December 5, 2019, the Catalog was renamed the 'Avatar Store', seemingly out of nowhere. This caused a lot of confusion in the Roblox community, with some even claiming that it was 'unnecessary' and 'ridiculous'.

This change was announced in DRC 2019, showing the catalog and avatar editor merged in action on one mobile device. As of now, this amalgamation of Catalog and Avatar Editor has gone into effect on mobile devices and will likely hit computers in no time. The catalog name change is likely to be in preparation for this merger.

    Curiosities

    Avatar shop

Bug where random clothing appears in the featured section.

    • The old design of the Avatar Store can be seen here, although it does not work.
    • Sometimes the Avatar Store crashes completely and causes the featured items tab to fill up with random clothing (possibly stolen).
    • The Avatar Store is still labeled "Catalog" on the page itself, the tab name, and in the Windows 10 app.
    • Only the top navigation bar on the Roblox website labels it "Avatar Store".
    • As with the rest of Roblox, the search system is very easily abused, and overall it's just awful.
