Rhinomuraena quaesita or Blue Ribbon Eel is a species of fish of the Morenid family in the order Anguilliformes. It is related to the Eel and the Moray eel and makes its debut in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It can only be found on the island, as it is a fish that can only live in warm waters.

Obligatory fishing on the island since it only lives in warm waters. The Blue Ribbon Eel is very easy to distinguish from other fish by its large and thin silhouette. It is not very difficult to fish or find. It is the same as the eel but this is blue and is fished in warm seas.

The head of these eels is so particular that it seems that flowers are growing on their noses. They are a beautiful electric blue color, as well as long and extremely thin. They are born without sex, then become males and finally are female when they reach maturity. They hide in the sand and from time to time they appear with their mouths open and an aggressive gesture. However, they are very peaceful animals and if they do that it is because they need to breathe. - Museum panel.

The blue ribbon eel is a relative of the moray eel, although it is distinguished from it by its bright colors. It also has an unusual plant-shaped appendage that undulates as the eel swims. I like to think of it as a friendly nose with which it greets whoever crosses its path! - Socrates.
