El buried treasure map just come to Fortnite with update 8.01, thus introducing one of the most anticipated and announced novelties for the Season 8. A few days ago we told you about the treasure island map ... but this new one has nothing to do with it. This Buried Treasure Map is a legendary item (orange), which can appear randomly anywhere on the map, as part of the contents of a chest or alone, on the ground.
So know where is the buried treasure map in Fortnite it is practically impossible. It can potentially appear anywhere, and there are no clues whatsoever to find one. Just try to open chests and explore the area where you fall. It is also released by enemies when killed, so if you are lucky, and you take down the bearer of one, you can get hold of it ... For appearing, it appears even in 50 vs 50 modes such as Team Fight ...

Buried treasure in Fortnite: where and how to find it, how it works
As we have said the buried treasure map in Fortnite occupies a space in our inventory. But beware, it has a trick: using it will leave you unarmed in front of the opponents. If you press any of the triggers, red marks will show you the way to go to find the chest ...
More than the road, it will guide us in the direction in which the buried chest is located, since it does not distinguish between mountains and areas through which we cannot advance ... Ideally, you should change between the map of the buried treasure and your best weapon, in case you meet an enemy. You will know that you are near the place when you see an area of the ground glow with orange light. It is seen from a distance.
As you approach, you will clearly see an "X" on the ground marking where the chest is buried. It is right in that area where you will have to use your pick to dig the ground and dig it up.
A chest that will always, always, always have one or more legendary items, along with other items. It can be a shotgun, an assault rifle ... but always legendary, orange (the best, the ones that inflict the most damage).
