Carpet She is a character introduced in Dōbutsu no Mori, she is a camel who, depending on the version, trades or sells rare carpets and wallpapers to the player. A random day may appear in all games from Monday to Friday between 6:00 and 00:00.

    Summary

    Etymology

    • Its English name, Saharah, derives from the Sahara desert of Africa. Just like Savannah is often spelled Savanna, her name sometimes misses the final 'h' in Neighbors' conversations.
    • Its Spanish name, Alcatifa, means "carpet" in Portuguese.

    Appearance

Alcatifa is a camel with darker brown hair and pinkish ears. The belly is white like the hands and legs. He wears a blue Arab-style vest, and on his back he carries a kind of backpack full of rugs and wallpaper.

    Appearances

    Animal Crossing

    Carpet Carpet

Alcatifa makes a living selling rare and exotic rugs from distant lands. Like most of the other special characters in the game, Alcatifa sells items that cannot be found anywhere else. However, she has a different way of doing business; she accepts exchanges. In order for the player to have one of his rugs, the player must exchange one of his rugs along with some money. Their prices start at 3.000 Berries and double with each change to 48.000 Berries. She also retains her male voice.

    Animal Crossing: Wild World

    Carpet Carpet

In Wild World, Alcatifa returns and this time she gives out rare wallpaper and carpets. Instead of their exchanges, it will ask the player to deliver rugs and wallpapers to special characters such as Socrates, Handy Sisters, Tom Nook, Sun and Star, similar to the way the player works for Tom Nook at the beginning of the game. As a reward, she will allow the Player to choose between a carpet and a wallpaper that cannot be obtained in any other way.

She plays a prominent role in the Golden Ax exchange event, which involves the player exchanging various items with other special characters and thereby obtaining the Golden Ax. When the player talks to Alcatifa, she will talk about how she "longs for a turban."

Animal Crossing: City Folk/Let's Go To The City

    Carpet Carpet

Alcatifa continues to be present in City Folk and once again changes its way of interacting with the player. On this occasion, as in Wild World, we will not have to pay either, however, when she makes an appearance in town she will offer to exchange either wall papers or carpets (never both on the same day) in exchange for other wall papers or old rugs. The latter can be obtained from other residents of the town by asking for them, but only one or two of them will have them, so that the exchanges that we can make with Alcatifa will be very limited. Neighbors who accept our request will give us the dull wall or the dull floor depending on what Alcatifa offers us. If the player saves three of these old rugs or wallpapers each time she visits, she will give them a special gift. If the player tries to give him a rug or wallpaper from his home or Nook Store, he will say "he's still adorable"! but I don't accept it. Also, the athletic neighbors refer to her as the "lady with the heavy eyelashes."

    Animal Crossing: New Leaf

For the first time, New Leaf Alcatifa will sell us walls and floors directly without making any kind of exchange. The player will occasionally find her walking around town and she will offer to redecorate the player's carpet or wallpaper. If the player agrees to pay 3.000 Berries, she will follow the player home and redecorate the interiors with a random combination of rugs or wallpapers. When finished, he will return the player's carpet and wallpaper. More than the previous games, Alcatifa speaks in a shortened, almost fractured way, emphasizing his distance from home.

    Animal Crossing: New Horizons

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Alcatifa can be found wandering around on random days. Alcatifa now gives the player the option of what kind of wallpaper or floor he wants to buy, these rugs, whose price of rugs depends on their size, small at 1000 berries, and magical wallpaper and floors, 3.000 Berries each. As in previous deliveries, the Player has no control over what they will receive, but that Alcatifa will deliver any product within its category. With each purchase Alcatifa gives away "Alcatifa coupons" and by collecting five, the player will be able to exchange them for a magical wall or floor, the amount of coupons the player receives depends on the size of the carpet they have bought, 3 for a large one, 2 for a medium and 1 for a small. The products that Alcatifa will sell are already pre-established when you visit the island, but those obtained by using the coupons are random.

    Curiosities

    • According to grumpy neighbors in City Folk, his accent is fake. They claim that she used to do live comedy at the Theater and had no accent.
    • There is an easy way to get a lot of old rugs in one visit. First, a player must get an old carpet from another player and get more carpets from different players. Next, drop the extra rugs and have the person who is the main player get the exotic rug to collect the other rugs and then give them to her for a rare rug.
    • Despite being a woman, Alcatifa is referred to as a man in Animal Crossing's Official Strategy Guide. This is probably due to her male voice in said game, or the fact that she is male in the Japanese versions.
    • Although it is difficult to see why Alcatifa was changed from male to female in the international versions, the reason could be her eyelashes. However, it is common for camels of both sexes to have long eyelashes, as they protect their eyes from the sand they contain.
    • Alcatifa refers to Tom Nook as "King Nook".
    • Alcatifa and Graciela are the only characters to have a gender change when Animal Crossing was being located.
