Demyx, "El Nocturno Melodioso", is the IX member of Organization XIII. Its element is water, and it plays an antagonistic role alongside the rest of the Organization's members. Control the Nobodies Dancer. His weapon is a Sitar.

Kingdom Hearts II

It is number IX of Organization XIII. He used a kind of musical instrument called "Sitar" to control the water. However, he did not fight too well. Demyx had received orders to "unleash Sora's true nature" while in the Olympus Coliseum.

Appearance

Demyx is a young man of medium height and slim build. He has light brown, almost blond hair, combed in the shape of a crest and long at the back, the sides and sideburns are shaved to 1. The color of his eyes is a greenish blue. He wears the typical raincoat of the organization with the sleeves somewhat tight to the arms.

Personality

Demyx has an extremely lazy character. He does not like to move or do any kind of physical effort, and any mission order that implies that leads to a complaint from him. According to him, he does not like fighting at all, and he often lets others do such jobs for him. He loves music and spends idle hours in his room playing the Sitar, which annoys many of his companions, especially Larxene and Saïx, whom he fears. All this added to the fact that it is something cowardly makes it give the organization a comic touch. However, if he gets serious he can also be very dangerous, tenacious and unscrupulous, as demonstrated in his second match with Sora. He also has a bad memory and little sense of responsibility, which is why he usually carries the instructions that he must fulfill on paper.

One of his most used phrases is "dance, water, dance."

Demyx wields a Sitar, an instrument used predominantly in the Indian subcontinent. In 358/2 Days his Sitares vary in shape and appearance similar to the keychains on the protagonists' Keyblades. Most of his Sitares are named after musical terms, or rock and roll. When fighting, he is rarely seen physically hitting his opponent with his sitar, instead using his power over water instead.

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Demyx similarly uses his Sitar as an instrument and plays it (musically), forming a final combo. His default weapon is called the "Arpeggio". His joke weapons are "After School" and "Imposing Prince". When idle, he often plays his Sitar as a musical instrument.

"Imposing Prince" is a clear reference to the manga and anime "The Prince of Tennis", since the Sitar is shaped like a racket.

Curiosities

Demyx, Zexión and Luxord are the only members of the organization that do not use weapons as such (Luxord using cards, Zexión a book and Demyx his Sitar).
He is the only character in the entire series to use a musical instrument as a weapon.
Airwalk produced a shoe model called Demyx (a possible focus on women with its design), and another called Roxas.
Despite wielding water, Demyx has a weak point against magical fire. This is because in the magical properties of Kingdom Hearts II, water is classified as a form of magic blizzard. However, in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, water and snowstorm are two different types of attacks and magic.
The Sitar of Demyx is shaped like the symbol of the Nobodies.
His real name has yet to be revealed.
In the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days manga, he, along with Luxord, got along well with Roxas. In the Kingdom Hearts II manga, both of them, after he rejoined Sora, indirectly mention that Roxas "was" a good boy. This suggests that they possibly liked him.
