    Elite barbarians

Elite barbarians It is a common rarity card in Clash Royale that can be obtained from the Montepuerco arena (Arena 10).

    Strategy

    • Elite Barbarians are more reliable as a defensive card turned into a counterattack, especially against tanks and troops that are beaten by each Barbarian, such as Musketeer. This allows them to press for a lower cost than if they were only played on the bridge (6 Elixir to counter 4, but the user will have two elite Barbarians almost unscathed counterattacking for 2 Elixir).
    • Since they spawn in pairs, they can be used to attack separate lines, with 1 elite Barbarian in each lane.
    • Due to their fast movement speed, they can be used to push back slower troops like the Valkyries, creating excellent synergy; the Valkyrie eliminates the swarms while the elite Barbarians annihilate the tank troops.
    • If the opponent is low on Elixir or you know their "counter" for the elite Barbarians is out of rotation, you can rush into a lane with the elite Barbarians. Their fast movement speed allows them to reach the Tower of Crowns very quickly and gives the opponent little time to react. However, it is recommended to have a harmful spell ready, as cheap swarms will render elite Barbarians of little use.
    • Casting Fury on them can be even more deadly, as it amplifies their already Fast movement speed, making it even more difficult to react to them. Despite the benefits, this strategy can leave the player with a huge Elixir deficit, as this combo is still susceptible to swarms. Because of this, pairing them with the Lumberjack can be just as effective, as the Lumberjack's fast hit speed will help them take care of small swarms, and when the Lumberjack dies, their Fury effect will make them much more dangerous. This can still be risky as it can leave the player with an even higher Elixir deficit, of course, as Lumberjack costs 2 more Elixir.
    • An infamous combo is Elite Barbarians + Fire Spirits. Fire Spirits act as 3 Portable Discharges that have a smaller radius and are self-targeting. They will clear out any air or ground swarms trying to stop elite barbarians, as well as dealing considerable damage to the tower once they reach it. However, it can still be turned off with a mini tank + swarm combo. Positioning is very important because Fire Spirits are faster than elite Barbarians.
    • A high risk, high reward move is to send them quickly at the start of a game, as you have 6 Elixirs. This can be done more quickly by tapping the screen twice to skip the animation showing the Arena, giving the player access to their cards more quickly. This is even more effective when your best counter is out of rotation, as they will have less Elixir to cycle.
    • Compared to normal Barbarians, they have higher offensive stats and abilities. However, the number of elite Barbarians is 2, while Barbarians are 5. Therefore, they do less combined damage than normal Barbarians and are less effective in defense due to their smaller numbers. However, elite barbarians are less susceptible to splash damage (a fireball of equal level will not defeat them) due to their higher individual hit points.

    Counterstrategy

    • They are unlocked in a higher arena (Montepuerco), which means that Barbarians can be obtained earlier and more easily leveled up for use in competitive battles.
    • Although they have high damage per second, their health is mediocre, so almost all swarms can counter them for a positive Elixir trade. An Ice Golem with any other high-damage support card (for example, Minions) can easily defeat them.
    • Area damage units like Bomber, Valkyrie, or Dark Prince are great to counter when paired with Skeletons or Ice Spirit, deflecting damage towards them. The same can be said for powerful "glass cannons" like Mini PEKKA or Lumberjack. Skeletons can also be protected by an Ice Golem.
    • PEKKA and Mega Knight are excellent counterattacks for them, although they do result in a negative Elixir trade. They can quickly slash them by themselves using their powerful damage, even without the help of the Tower of Crowns. Their health is also high enough to withstand their heavy damage, and they will have a fair amount of hit points left, allowing the defender to initiate a counterattack.
    • A Rocket can completely defeat them with a neutral Elixir exchange. However, due to its fast movement, coupled with the Rocket's slow travel time, it can be difficult and risky to use it successfully. Alternatively, you can use Lightning to damage them and 1 support card.
    • Mini-tanks like Knight, Ice Golem, or Valkyrie can bring them to the center, allowing both towers to attack them for a positive elixir exchange.
    • Pulling them with a Tombstone is a great way to stop them. If your opponent defends against your elite barbarians with a tombstone, place a Bolt one space below the tombstone and drop it just as it is destroyed. The generated Skeletons will be destroyed and the elite Barbarians will quickly make their way to the Tower of Crowns without distractions.

    Curiosities

    • It is one of the 5 cards related to barbarians, along with the Battle Ram, the Barbarians, the Barbarian Barrel and the Barbarian Hut.
    • In the TouchDown Challenge the elite Barbarians wear a Football Helmet, instead of their Horned Helmet.
    • The players of the world top and Youtubers consider that it is the most "dirty" card next to the noble Giant
    • When this card was introduced to the game it was useless, its damage increased by 19% by 14% and its attack speed from 1.5 to 1.4 making it one of the greatest buffs in history.
    • His description is a reference to the Daft Punk song, "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". (Harder, better, faster, stronger).
    • Elite Barbarians resemble level 6 Barbarians in Clash of Clans; Elite Barbarians with Star Points look like level 7 Barbarians in Clash of Clans. The helmet they wear may be a reference to Skyrim's Steel Helmet from Elder Scrolls V, which is one of the most iconic helmets in the game.
