Fenrir

Fenrir is a keychain that appears in Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ. It is the strongest Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts II.

Design

Its appearance is very similar to the sword that Cloud carries (Mortal Sword / Buster Sword) in the games of the Final Fantasy saga. His keychain is made up of a symbol in the shape of a wolf. His blade is seen with some bandages at the beginning reflecting the ones Cloud uses to cover his weapon. Its handle is made of metal and wrapped in purple bandages. In its center is another piece of metal covered with red bandages. A curiosity is that before starting your sheet you can see five distributed holes, three of them above and two below.

Obtaining

After defeating Sephiroth in Hollow Hold, go to Cloud and talk to him. Go back to Sephiroth and talk to him again. Cloud will appear and fight with his rival. As both disappear, Tifa will approach and give you the keychain of this powerful weapon.

• Attack: + 7
• Magic: + 1
• Ability: Negative Combo
• Effect: subtract the number of combos you can perform on the ground and in the air by 1.
• It is advisable to use this weapon when you have the skills that increase a hit to the combos, since due to its small inconvenience it becomes heavy to make short combos.

Curiosities

• In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, this Keyblade appears in the Keyblade Necropolis along with many others (2nd from left is Fenrir).

• It is the first and only Keyblade that for now does not follow the "classic key" pattern of the others and resembles one of the current ones, giving it more of a "sword" aspect itself.

• In a way, this Keyblade is a bit reminiscent of Cloud's sword, especially because of the bandages on it.

Fenrir is the name of a mythological creature, from the Norse culture, it is described as a gigantic wolf that caused Ragnarok. According to the prophecy, Fenrir will kill Odin.

In the movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Fenrir is associated with Cloud in items such as his motorcycle, the wolf that can be seen during the movie, and the emblem that he wears on his clothing and that can be seen here as a keychain.

On the other hand, Fenrir appears as an invocation or enemy in various games of or related to the Final Fantasy franchise.
