Opening a flame usually takes a long time. However, it can take less time if you use the pick. If you press and hold the corresponding button to open it, it will take approximately six seconds. On the other hand, if you use the pickaxe, the time will be reduced to three seconds.

You can also use a pistol to open it, which will allow you to take even less. In fact, it will only take you 1,5 seconds to do it. Of course, you have to take into account that you will make noise, so you will alert other players and you will expose yourself more if you choose this method. Therefore, unless you have a silenced weapon, try to open a flame with a pistol as long as you do not have enemies around.
