La Fortnite Chapter 11.40 update 2 is now available, after the long Christmas break in which there has been no news of any kind, beyond the challenges of Cura vs Toxina last week. And even though epic Games usually post late patch notes, here we are going to give you all the news, bug fixes and everything that the today's Fortnite update, and we will update as the official notes arrive.
As in the last patches, the news splashes to all the modes and options of the game, including the Save the World mode from Fortnite, although it also incorporates some news and corrections in the rest of the game modes, that is, from the Battle Royale to the Creative mode. The Fluo Blue has been depleted and you will not be able to find it in the environment. Venture out to defend the new dispensers and prevent the burner from going out! Keep the burner toasty warm during this weekly challenge to unlock the Hail Sniper Rifle.
HAIL SHOOTER RIFLE
This semi-automatic marksman rifle is a cold water jug for husks. This is a medium and long-range weapon that deals high damage when firing quickly.
Error correction
- The Storm King's Wrath Hammer no longer causes jerks when leaving Shadow Stance.
- Fixed a bug that prevented certain Hero Perks from working correctly with In Command Plan.
- Long-term damage from hive shells no longer permanently affects the player.
- Anti-aircraft traps no longer fire projectiles from the Storm King's Carnage pistol.
- The effect duration buff now works correctly on the gas trap.
BATTLE ROYALE NEWS
Introducing the option to upgrade to a better weapon and the Heavy Assault Rifle is back.
- Now, in non-competitive game queues, you can use upgrade machines to convert your assault rifle into a heavy assault rifle. The cost of materials for upgrading weapons on upgrade machines has been reduced.
- The following items have been added to the Battle Lab:

- Now the 2018 iPad Pro supports 120 FPS.

- Fixed an issue where players were unable to exit edit mode when editing quickly.
- Falling into a hideout will no longer disappear the bolt-action rifle scope.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the progress of some stops from being recorded in the challenge "Visit different bus stops in the same game" of Cura vs. Toxin.
- The Color Spectrum trail changes color again on the move.
- We have made more improvements regarding FPS drops and jerks on mobile devices.
- Fixed a bug that caused mobile players to get stuck in a loop on the shooting mode selection screen.
- Fixed a bug that prevented console players from giving gifts if they didn't have two-factor authentication enabled.

We've added Horseshoe Island - a U-shaped island surrounded by small islands to swim between.
Error correction
- Shadows no longer display on the island grid surface when nothing is built on it.
- Creative Hub Rift is now consistently placed on all Islands.
- Fixed an issue where Creative Island template names and descriptions would not display correctly translated when the game was in other languages.
- Trees and rocks no longer appear floating on the Escape Map tutorial island.
Playability
- A friendly fire option has been added in the My Island settings and on the Team Settings gadget to allow players to deal damage to teammates during a match.
- A new value has been added to the Auto Start option in the My Island settings.
- Immediate: the game will start automatically as soon as the player has appeared on the island.
- We've changed the way spectator players are grouped together in voice chat when the voice chat option is set to Teams. Instead of grouping all the spectator players into a single voice chat, they are now grouped by team.
Error correction
- Respawning in Creative game mode will no longer return gravity settings to default.
- Players without edit permissions can no longer drop graffiti on other players' islands.
- Fixed an issue where players could keep their inventory if they went to an island to establish their inventory and then switched to another island.
- Fixed a bug that caused flight speed changes to not be applied immediately after they were modified.
- Players will no longer appear above water if they started or finished a minigame while swimming.
- Fixed an issue where players were not added to the correct voice chat when entering and exiting Observer Mode during round games.
PREFABRICATED AND GALLERIES
- 2 new galleries have been added.
- Village roof gallery variant.

Error correction
- Fixed an issue where the Elemental could be used with the stealthy snowman, allowing the snowman to be duplicated.
- The Creative Chest and Pandora's Chest can now be marked from the Chest and Ammo Gallery.
- Unnecessary gloss has been removed from the bottom of the Prison Gallery floors.
- Items in the Water Tower Gallery have been rearranged to match the miniature icon.
- Fixed items in the Energy Structure item gallery appearing to have no bottom.
- The Energy Structure token no longer appears upside down after deploying the Energy Structure item gallery.
- The spooky particle gallery will now appear correctly when selecting the Particle tab in the Creative inventory.
- The ice floor will no longer stop slipping when certain devices are placed on it.
- Fixed a bug that caused the tree trunks in the Christmas Gallery to have a leafy texture if copied with the phone tool.
- Fixed a bug that caused the terrain tiles in the Brown Cliff Gallery to disappear.
- The corner ceiling pieces of the village roof gallery are no longer missing.
- The Green Flame Particle Orb in the Dark Shattered item gallery now works properly.
- Fixed a bug related to the memory required to deploy the Car Gallery variant B.
- The Car Gallery variant B can now be deployed on Mac or iOS devices.
