    Fortnite Battle Royale Parch 8.1

    After presenting the most important news of the Fortnite update 8.1, we tell you what they are all changes of the new update in Battle Royale mode, present on all platforms.


    Weapons and objects

    • Boloncho: This single-seat vehicle is found in outposts and loot caches in pirate camps. Use the suction launcher functionality and the throttle to get close to cliffs or swing through the trees. The driver takes no damage, but the bun is vulnerable to enemy gun fire. 300 health points
    • Infantry Rifle: Common rarity removed.
    • Heavy Assault Rifle: Rarity has been adjusted from Rare / Epic / Legendary to Common / Uncommon / Rare. Base damage is 36/38/40 based on Common / Uncommon / Rare.
    • Limpets: Stack limit reduced from 10 to 6.
    • Reduced the availability of Treasure Maps in Ground Loot from 0,53% to 0,27%.

    Error correction

    • Fixed a bug that caused the rocket's smoke trail to instantly disappear when exploding.
    • Fixed an issue where the balloon popping sound would continue to play after using the balloons to reach the maximum build height using a vehicle.
    • Fixed an issue where Buried Treasure would not be collected automatically when the option to automatically collect weapons was enabled.
    • Fixed an issue where Buried Treasure Chests could spawn on the starting island.

    Gameplay

    • Infinite dab duration reduced from 12 hours to 11 hours in the UI.

    • Marker system:
      • Details about world markers have been added. The actions players take with a marker will appear in these details. The details of the markers will appear when the graticule is placed on the marker.
      • Vehicles and consumables such as apples can now be marked.
      • The way item markers are displayed has been redesigned to be more readable on all platforms.
      • Objects will display as a large icon for a short time when first marked and will shrink when a player aims close to their location.

    • Fixed a bug on consoles where the "Party Assist" option could not be selected in the last challenge of a batch.
    • Fixed an issue where the next stage of a challenge was not automatically set to "Party Support".
    • Fixed an issue where animation and sound effects would play twice when selecting challenges with a controller.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the challenge screen to occasionally move unexpectedly when scrolling with the mouse.

    • Bus paths have been added to the minimap.

    Mobile

    • An automatic fire adjustment feature has been added so that it can be modified for each weapon. This has already been implemented for other weapons, but can now be used with pistols.

    Creative Mode Patch 8.1

    Islands

    • New Islands: Sand Boat Island and Volcano Island
    • The number of islands per player on a server has been reduced from 16 to 8. This allows for larger islands. It also improves server performance. Players who log in after the first 8 players will not have access to their personal islands, instead they will have to start a new server. This will be fixed in an upcoming update, when the portal mechanics are updated.
    • Collision lock on islands has been removed so that larger islands can be made.

    Error correction

    • Fixed a bug that caused items to be lost after entering an island, reloading an island, or ending a game. The kill log system which was causing a lot of errors has been removed.
    • Fixed an issue where islands could not be restored after resetting.

    Gameplay

    • The score has been added. Score to win has been added as a condition for finishing. You can now specify the final score that players or teams have to achieve to win the game.
    • Targets have been added. Win objectives have been added as a condition of completion. You can now specify the number of objectives required for a game to end. Objectives option has been added to the scoreboard type. When the game is over, it shows how many objectives each player or team has achieved.
    • Challenge Coins now have new visuals to make them easier for players to see.
    • The countdown has been moved from the start of the game to after the screen is blurred.
    • The HUD has been disabled while starting a game on a featured island.
    • Added players staying in place during the countdown to start the game.

    • Holding down the phone button to zoom in or out on an item with grid snap on will repeatedly zoom in or out.

    • The description for the "Joel's" prefab has been updated to be more accurate.
    • Fixed an inconsistency between Creative and Playground when a single player tried to access the team selection tab in the settings menu.

    News from Save the World

    In addition to Fortnite Battle Royale and Creative Mode, Epic has introduced what's new in Save the World mode. It is a mode that is only present on desktop platforms, Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and for which you have to pay.

    • Fixed an issue where Frozen Destroyers could still deal damage to players while charging.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the teleportation gadget to appear invisible to players joining games in progress or reconnecting to the game.
    • Fixed an issue that caused Enraged's effects on hive husk helmets and butane tanks to follow after its effect had expired.
