El Gate is a construction located in the highest central part of the Animal Crossing towns: Wild World and City Folk / Let's Go to the City. It is a mix of the Train Station and Animal Forest Police Station, Animal Forest + and Animal Crossing (GameCube). In this building is the village flag that the player can change talking to Nocencio, the lost objects (10 in DS and 12 in Wii maximum) and a great door to go to other towns.
Here you can communicate with other towns using the various connections of DS and Wii: on DS you have DS to DS and CWF from Nintendo, and on Wii Suitcase DS and CWF from Nintendo. If you connect via WI-FI you must have the game code of the other character and the other must have that of your character.
As it is also a police station, the Animal Crossing (GameCube) policemen Nocencio and Vigilio will be there to assist you, with news from the town, lost objects, or console communication.

What's New on Wii
In this game, the Gate can have three different aspects:
- Old Building (DS and Wii)
- Normal (DS y Wii)
- Castle (Wii)
And even if two people look the same, you can change some detail.
In Animal Crossing: City Folk / Let's Go To The City you also have the Bus stop, with whom you come to town for the first time and with whom you go to the City. In front of this bus stop you can have the Fountain of Desires.

- In Animal Crossing: Wild World if you have connected with a friend by CWF or Wireless Connection for once with a friend and a neighbor of your town moves (leaves) There is a good chance that you will see the neighbor in the town of your friend and vice versa, this is a way of recovering the neighbors who left that if your friend has space for one more neighbor.
- Sometimes in Animal Crossing DS it is possible to get a clone of a neighbor of yours. That is, your friend has the same neighbor as you. To have more chances of this is to have your friend and you the same appearance and the same response that you responded to captain, then connect at least 6 times by DS to DS and wait.
