This event lasts from 7:00 to 9:00 in the morning and consists of waiting for Rese T. Ado to announce whether winter will last a little longer or spring will begin shortly. The chronology would be the following:

PM8:00 | Rese T. Ado appears under the guise of "La Marmota" and announces whether the winter will last longer or it will stop and spring will begin. |

An Animal Crossing: City Folk
From this game, really, the essence of this celebration is lost. Tortimer will be in front of the Town Hall and if you talk to him he will give you a Mini Rese T. Ado.

During the event, the player can receive a Cinnamon Mini Rese T. Ado to decorate their home. Also in the square there is a photo panel in which the player can pose by sticking his head.
Information about the actual event
Groundhog Day is a folkloric method used by farmers, especially in the United States and Canada, to predict the end of winter, based on the behavior of the animal when it comes out of hibernation on February 2. According to the belief, if the groundhog does not see its shadow when leaving its burrow, because it is a cloudy day, it will leave the burrow, which means that winter will soon end. If, on the other hand, because it is a sunny day, the groundhog "sees its shadow" and goes back into its burrow, it means that winter will last six more weeks.
