El escondite (Hide and seek in Latin America) is a game in which the Player can play with the neighbors to hide. The hideout was introduced in Animal Crossing: City Folk / Let's Go To The City and it reappears in Animal Crossing New Leaf. Talking to a neighbor, especially those you are friends with, he will ask you if you want. Once you agree, then the screen will fade and you will reappear in the Town Hall along with two other neighbors: it represents that at that time, you have been looking for people who would like to play. The neighbor who suggested the game will then announce the rules and how long they will be playing. After the rules have been explained, the screen will fade out again. When the screen reappears, the neighbors have disappeared, and a transparent blue bar will show across the screen, prompting the player to go out and find everyone. The clock in the upper left corner will be replaced with a stopwatch indicating the time remaining. The player must find all the villagers before time runs out.
Rules
There will be a set time (between 15 or 10 minutes, depending on how many times you have already played) in which to find those three neighbors. They will hide behind of trees, palm trees, signs, the notice board or buildings of any kind. It is completely forbidden to enter buildings, but as we have said, they could be behind. They will stick their heads out to the side to see where the player is (image on the left). If you find all three before time runs out, you win. If you don't get it, you lose.
To win
The neighbor who challenged the player to hide will give the player a reward for finding them all. The objects can be Gyroids and sometimes Fish or Bugs. If the player has full pockets, it will be sent by letter (it is curious, but yes: they could send you a fish or a bug in a letter although it cannot be done).
