Preliminary requirements
If you are playing Fortnite on PC and your intent is to change the name that is displayed to other players during matches, you will surely be happy to know that it is possible to do so, as it is enough to change the username of the Epic Games account you created to play this hugely popular title.
Having said that, the first preliminary operation that you must have done correctly is, of course, that of having created an account epic Games. In addition, you must also have verified the email address used during registration. Carrying out this specific procedure is very simple: log in to the e-mail service to read the mail received at the e-mail address indicated during the account creation phase epic Games (for example Gmail if you signed up with an email @ Gmail.com); then locate, in the mailbox received, the email from Epic Games that refers to the confirmation of the email address.
If you can't find it, try searching the internal e-mail search engine for emails received from help@epicgames.com (please be careful with phishing attempts), then, once identified, click on the button Verify your email, in order to confirm the registered email address and to be able to carry out the subsequent name change procedure without problems, which I will tell you about in detail in the next paragraph.
Change your name on Fortnite
Once the preliminary operations have been carried out, you can carry out the name change procedure concerning the account epic Games; as a result, the name displayed on Fortnite in its computer version will also be changed.
You can perform this operation in the same way by acting from a computer or from a smartphone and tablet; in all cases all you need is a browser for surfing the Internet, as it is necessary to act via the official website of the game. All clear? Yup? Okay, in the following lines I'll explain step by step what to do.
To change name on Provided for PC, connected to the official website of the game (by clicking on the link I indicated) and log in to the latter by pressing the button Log in which you can see in the upper right corner of the screen.
Then press the button Yes and then on the one called PC / MAC, in order to see, subsequently, the access menu. Now use the text fields on the screen to type your login data (email address e Password) related to your account and click on the button Log in.
If you have previously logged in via social networks Facebook o Google, for example, click on the button for the one you registered with to log in faster.
Once logged in, click on yours username located in the upper right corner of the screen and, in the relative context menu, click on the item Account: you will then be able to see on the screen a section dedicated to your account information and, in particular, make sure you are in the tab called Personal info (this item is located in the left side menu).
Now, to change the name on Fortnite for PC, use the text field Visualized name to type in the new username, then fill in the next text field to confirm the change, put the check mark on the box labeled I understand that after this change for two weeks I will not be able to change my display name again and press pulsating Confirmation. As you surely understand, changing your username is an operation that can only be done every two weeks.
If the procedure has been carried out successfully and the username you have chosen is available, you will be shown a confirmation notice with the words Account updated; if the username is not available, however, you will be indicated with a red writing and you will be invited to choose a different one.
Furthermore, if after changing your username you also want to change the personal data indicated for your account, i.e. your name or surname, always refer to the section Personal info. Using this screen, you can change the data that is displayed in the text fields name e last name, in correspondence with the wording Real name. Finally, to confirm the changes made to your account, click on the button Save Changes you see at the end of the web page.
If you need to change your name on Fortnite for PC but you don't have the ability to act on your computer, don't worry; you can also change the display name for your Epic Games account from your smartphone and tablet.
To do this, connected to the official Fortnite website via a browser for browsing the Internet, press the button with the symbol (☰) , so you can see the item Log in on which you have to press, to log in with your account data. Then follow the exact same procedure that I indicated in the previous lines, as the steps to be performed are the same.
Alternatively, to make the username change on Fortnite even faster, start the epic Games by clicking on its icon that you find in the Destkop Windows or on the Desk say macOS.
With the client running, press on yours username in the upper right corner and in the drop-down menu that appears on the screen, click on the item Manage your account, in order to be immediately redirected to the web page Personal info which allows, as explained in the previous lines, to change the username displayed in the game.
