Fortnite it is an online game and therefore requires an active Internet connection to be played. Another important thing is that it is a title that receives updates with a certain frequency. Periodically, in fact, the Fortnite developers make updates available that improve the gaming experience and / or solve some technical problems, and it is important to install them in a timely manner. You would like to be able to use it too but, having recently entered the world of this famous multiplayer title, you are not sure how to do it.
Don't worry: if you're wondering how to update fortnite, know that today I'm here to give you a hand. In fact, in today's guide, I will show you step by step how to do this both on the computer and on the main consoles, such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Also, in case you play Fortnite on mobile devices too, such as smartphones and tablets, I will explain how to keep it updated on Android and iOS as well.

How to update Fortnite on PC
If you are playing the Fornite via your computer Windows or yours Mac, know that updating the game is very simple. In fact, you must know that, by default, the software Epic Games Launcher ensure that the games purchased and downloaded, including Fortnite, are kept up-to-date.
However, it may happen that these updates do not take place, because an option has been disabled in the program or there are other problems. To verify that automatic updates are on, you need to launch Epic Games Launcher and click on the item Settings, which you find in the side menu. In the new screen that is shown to you, scroll through the different configuration items, until you find the section Manage games.
Once this is done, make sure the box is Allow automatic updates is active, so that all games installed via Epic Games Launcher stay up to date. Then click on the entry Fortnite, which you can find a little further down, and make sure the box is activated Fortnite automatic update: if it is deactivated, all games will be updated with the exception of Fortnite.
An alternative procedure to that indicated in the lines above is to enable updates for Fortnite directly from the section Library, reachable through the menu items in the sidebar of theEpic Games Launcher. Then click on this section and press theicona dell'ingranaggio that you find next to the miniature relative to Fortnite. In the box that appears on the screen, move the lever from OFF a ON at the item Automatic updates And that's it.

How to update Fortnite on PS4
If you play at Fortnite means PlayStation 4, you should know that the games are updated from the console automatically, if automatic updates have not been disabled. This feature allows, in fact, to keep the console software and games continuously updated both when it is on and when it is in standby mode.
To update Fortnite, therefore, first make sure that the PS4 is connected to the Internet (if you don't know how to check this condition, I suggest you read my guide dedicated to the subject), then enable the automatic download of updates.
To do this, select the briefcase icon (Settings) from the PlayStation home menu and select items System > Automatic downloads from the following screens. Now, put a check mark on the box Application update file and all your games will be updated automatically when the console is turned on and connected to the Internet.
If you want to enable updates even when the PlayStation is in mode Rest (only available to users Plus), go to the panel again Settings console and select items Energy saving settings > Sets the functions available in sleep mode and then check the box Stay connected to the internet.
In case you want to proceed manually to update Fortnite, highlight the latter on the PlayStation 4 home screen and press the button Options on the controller. In the screen that is shown to you, select the item Check for update to start searching for new versions of the game, which will be downloaded should they be found.
How to update Fortnite on Xbox One
To upgrade a Fortnite su Xbox One, conceptually we proceed in the same way as I have already explained to you in the previous chapter on PlayStation 4. It will therefore be necessary that the console is connected to the Internet (I explained how to check this condition in this guide of mine) and that they are enabled settings related to automatic game updates.
First, select yours username top left and reach the section Settings (the'icon with l'ingranaggio) in the Xbox main menu. Once this is done, press the button Settings among the options that are shown to you a little further down and select the items System > Updates and downloads and then put the check mark on the boxes Keep games and apps up to date.
By doing so, every time a new version of Fortnite is available, it will be automatically downloaded and installed on Xbox One.
How to update Fortnite on Nintendo Switch
If the console you own is one Nintendo Switch, update the Fortnite requires an active internet connection on the console.
First, therefore, make sure that the console is connected to the home Wi-Fi network. To do so, on the main screen of Nintendo Switch, pigia l 'icona dell'ingranaggio, to access the panel of Settings. Then, via the left sidebar, reach the items Internet > Internet settings and connect to a Wi-Fi network, typing the corresponding access password.
Now, go back to the main screen again Settings of Nintendo Switch and select the item System, in the side menu. Then enable the voice Automatic software update, to make sure your games are automatically updated.
At this point, all that remains is to start Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch home screen. If an update is available that has not yet been made, you will be shown a warning on the screen, to which you will have to answer yes. By doing so, the new update files will be downloaded and, at the end of this procedure, Fortnite will be available to be played.
How to update Fortnite Android
If you have installed Fortnite on Android via the Play Store of Google, you can update the game as you would with any other app, then by opening the official Google store, visiting the Fortnite card and pressing the button Update, if available. Fortnite su Android is also available through APK downloadable directly from the official website, without requiring the Google Play Store. If you got it this way, you need to know that when you first install Fortnite, the installation of the Fortnite installer, app that has the same function as the software Epic Games Launcher for PC, for game management.
This app allows you to install Fortnite on your smartphone or tablet and to keep it continuously updated, based on the different versions that are made available periodically. When a new update is available, it will be notified within the app Fortnite installer and you can download it by pressing the button Update.
When the download is complete, you will be shown a new section, through which to update Fortnite: then press the button Install and wait for the procedure to finish. All that remains is to press the button apri to start Fortnite and wait for all the automatic procedures to be carried out, so that the game is ready to run correctly.
How to update Fortnite on iOS
Su iPhone e iPad, Fortnite can be downloaded for free viaApp Store of iOS. Updates are performed automatically by the Apple operating system whenever they are available.
The automatic updates option, however, can be disabled in Settings of iOS. To verify that this has not happened, open the app Settings (the'icon with l'ingranaggio) that you find on the home screen and scroll through the different items, until you find the one named iTunes Store and App Store. Now, tap on the latter and make sure the lever next to the item Updates is set to ON.
Once this is done, connect the iPhone or iPad to the Internet (I told you about it in detail in this guide of mine) and that's it. Should a new update be available, it will automatically download on iOS.
If the update does not install automatically, you can check if there is one available by proceeding manually: first, start theApp Store, through its icon (a stylized "A") on the home screen and tap on the tab Updates, located at the bottom.
Done this, if an update to the app is available Fortnite, you will find the button Update next to. All that remains is to press on the latter to download and install it.
