Darkness cannot be destroyed. Just channeled. »- Master Xehanort to Terra

El Maestro Xehanort is one of the main characters that appear in the PSP game Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. He is one of the great Keyblade Masters left alive (along with Eraqus and Yen Sid) and the main antagonist of the installment and the series. He entered Terra's body gaining control, but lost his memories at the end of the Birth by Sleep story.

    Summary

    About

    Ventus and Aqua

One of the Masters of the Keyblade and an old acquaintance of Master Eraqus. Her relationship with the mysterious young man in the mask shows that she is up to something.

    Land

One of the Masters of the Keyblade and an old acquaintance of Master Eraqus. Her relationship with the mysterious young man in the mask shows that she is up to something. Unlike Master Eraqus, he does not repudiate darkness and, in fact, argues that it can be controlled.

    Appearance

Master Xehanort is an elderly, bald man with fine eyebrows and a long silver goatee. His ears are pointed (reminiscent of a goblin) and his eyes are honey-colored (due to the darkness that dwells in his heart). He has broad shoulders and a large back. In general he seems a weak older man, although in reality he hides great power, in relation to his darkness.

His clothes are almost identical to Xehanort's Heartless in the first Kingdom Hearts, namely a black and white cape with a red interior, a white shirt, black boots, and white gloves. The only and major difference in his appearance from Xehanort's Heartless is that the latter has his chest uncovered with his emblem in front, while Master Xehanort does not.

    Personality

Xehanort is a cruel man, extremely intelligent, cold, twisted, evil and without any scruples. He trained Ventus, with the aim of using it as a container for himself, to the brink of death, but seeing that it would not be useful for that purpose he used it for another experiment and extracted the darkness from his heart, which almost killed him. , creating Vanitas. Seeing the state in which he was left, he considered it useless and intended to abandon him in the Destiny Islands, but changed his mind when he saw that Ven could still use his Keyblade, and left it with Eraqus.

He has an insane and insatiable appetite for knowledge and that seems to be his great goal in life, in addition to unleashing Kingdom Hearts and unleashing a new war of the Keyblades.

He is also a great actor and manipulator when it comes to gaining someone's trust, this can be seen when he takes advantage of his old age, and his apparent weakness to gain the trust of Terra, whom he would later possess.

He is extremely skilled in manipulating darkness but a curious fact is that Master Xehanort respects light and darkness in equal parts and his greatest ambition would be to see the primal and inhospitable kingdom where they coexist in harmony, such is his ability with both that he is able to bypass the laws between the two without actually breaking them, creating great disasters for the benefit of his plan but without actually destroying the balance between the two forces.

    Skills

Despite his weak and fragile appearance, Master Xehanort is one of the most powerful figures to appear in the Kingdom Hearts universe and he also has the ability to wield the Keyblade as the master of darkness that he is. His Keyblade has black / silver finishes, a pointed handle and a head shaped like a battle ax sword. It has some similarities to the Distant Memories keychain.

He is clearly a very powerful wizard and possesses exceptional mental strength. He is also one of the last 2 Keyblade Masters to remain active in events leading up to Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep alongside Eraqus.

Although he is a specialist in the domain of darkness because it better serves his purposes, he respects light and darkness in equal parts, transcending the extremes of "good and evil" to which many refer, Eraqus himself observed this behavior and he described it as "poetic excuses" because Eraqus could not conceive the idea of the slightest trace of darkness in a heart as something good, but Xehanort was only interested in obtaining his final goal, it was at that moment when he made Eraqus his scars and went off to train Ventus. It is possible that the reason for his penchant for darkness is because it provides more power to hearts with a selfish and selfish goal, and that ultimately, they are easier to corrupt, although this does not seem to apply to him. His selfishness and wisdom have allowed him to completely subjugate the darkness that he uses as a source of power, granting him abilities that no other current master has been able to match.

With his magical abilities he is able to lift huge pillars of earth taken out of the ground and has also shown the ability to control a wave of hundreds of Keyblades with a powerful manipulation of the wind, creating a destructive vortex that he drives at will. Not only does his Ice magic deal damage on impact, it also spreads up Terra's arm, freezing him in the process. After catching Ven by the head with one hand and smashing his helmet, he instantly freezes his entire body although apparently only externally since he was still conscious and was able to move his eyes.

He also has the ability to either teleport or move at extreme speed, such as when he disappears when Ven tries to attack him from behind. His skill with the Keyblade is also impressive. He returned Terra's powerful attacks almost effortlessly and is capable of wielding the key with either hand. He can fight as equals with one hand on his back against opponents with enormous strength such as Terra for a long time, although if the fight goes on excessively, he cannot maintain his technique with the same efficiency, finally Terra ended up defeating him.

He possesses a mastery of the heart that has not yet been seen in another wielder of the Keyblade considering that he extracted Vanitas from Ventus, was able to possess Terra's body with ease, and possesses the incredible ability to be able to fragment her heart. in the parts that he chooses in order to exist with numerous different bodies. This ability is what he intends to use to achieve his final plan, create the true Organization XIII with 13 containers of his own heart, that is, 13 Xehanorts. So far a few members are known and they are: Terra-Xehanort, Ansem, Xemnas, Xigbar and Saïx, it is speculated that Young Xehanort and Vanitas will also be part of it.
