Medallion

El Medallion it is a key element of Kingdom Hearts II. It is one of the 882 cursed Aztec coins, which curses whoever possessed it, turning it into a skeleton invulnerable to all kinds of attack, until said coin is returned, along with the blood of all who have carried it, to its chest. . The Keyblade of Port Royal, Follow the Wind, has this coin as a key ring.

History

On the first visit to Port Royal, Elizabeth Swann was kidnapped by Captain Barbossa, because she had a medallion in her possession, and she said her last name was "Turner". After rescuing her, it turns out that the locket was originally from Will Turner, who he stole it from because he thought he was a pirate and would be killed.

In order to defeat Barbossa, Jack Sparrow, after stealing a medallion to be invincible, spills his own blood and returns his coins to the Aztec chest.

The second visit begins with a fight against the cursed pirate who has Sora and company, thinking that they were the ones who stole a medallion. Jack says that he doesn't have any, and Elizabeth hurries, to say that Will went to check out the Aztec chest.

While on their way to Isla de Muerta, Jack, Sora, and company meet Luxord, a member of Organization XIII, who has taken the chest from the island. After a fight with the Pirate Grim Reaper, Luxord admits defeat, but takes four medallions and hands them to four Gamblers, Nobodies under his control. The Pirate Grim Reaper reappears, so Sora, Jack, and the others battle her again. Meanwhile, Luxord fires the Black Pearl's cannons at the Interceptor.

Upon awakening, the group finds themselves in the Ship Graveyard, with Jack cursed. This says that they must find the four medallions and then return them to the chest before the curse starts again. The medallions are found in different areas of the world and are carried by the Nobodies at the command of Luxord.

After finding the four medallions, the group heads towards the City and finds the Grim Reaper and the Aztec chest there. In this battle the player is required to collect all the missing medals in the chest. Once they are all there, the group can finally damage the Grim Reaper, although the Grim Reaper can steal medallions from the chest or whatever Sora is carrying. The only way to make the medallions fall off the Grim Reaper is to use magic against her.

After the fight against the Heartless, Will asks if there is anything he can do for Sora, and Jack says he has an idea. Once at sea, Jack drops the chest outside of the Black Pearl into the ocean, where the medallions will no longer be a problem.
