Mighty Hoax

Mighty Hoax (in Spanish El Gran Degaño) is the second episode of the Angry Birds game, containing worlds 4 and 5, with 21 levels each. It is the first episode in which the pigs use a trick to be able to deceive the Birds.

Screen

In this episode, the pigs use pieces of wood in their shape to distract the birds while they steal the eggs. They also replace the eggs with pieces of wood. Then they hide behind the masks so that they cannot be found, so the birds chase them along the cliffs.

"The World of Angry Birds Official Guide" gives the following description:

WHAT A DIRTY TRICK

When the birds awoke the next morning, the eggs looked safe and sound. Then Red looked more closely. Those sneaky pigs had returned to the Great Cliffs and replaced the real eggs with cardboard cut-outs! Spotting Smooth Cheeks grinning from a distance, Chuck threw himself at the King, knocking him flat. Too flat in fact. It was another cardboard decoy. Those swine are getting sneaky.

Golden eggs

As in the other episodes, the Golden Eggs follow their own order, indicated on the level pause screen. Here they come with the numbering of the game, being 3 golden eggs:

• The Golden Egg # 2, at level 5-19, located next to the dots when the screen is zoomed out. You have to use a white bird to get it.
• The Golden Egg # 7, by getting random stars in all levels of Mighty Hoax.
• The Golden Egg # 9, on level 4-7, on the hill on the other side of the level. Behind this is the golden egg. It can be achieved by using an orange bird.

Curiosities

• For some strange reason, the King Pig cardboard cutout in level 4-21 uses the same sprites as the original.
• In the newer versions all the pigs were renewed and improved, but the King Pig cardboard cutout remains of the old design.
• In the final cutscene of Angry Birds Trilogy, when retrieving the eggs Bomb crushes King Pig with the cardboard cutout in the shape of a bush, however in the normal version simply the pigs, defeated, hide behind the cardboard bush.
• In this episode there is level 100 of the entire game, which is level 5-16.
