Peking Man - Homo erectus pekinensis
      Peking man
InfoThe Peking man is a standalone fossil that can be donated to the museum in Animal Crossing: Wild World AND Animal Crossing: City Folk / Let's Go To The City. It is a subspecies of Homo erectus typical of China. Its name alludes to the fact that its fossil remains were discovered southwest of Beijing, China. The remains were found between 1921 and 1937 and date to between 500 and 000 years ago. It is especially popular because at the time of its discovery it was considered the first fossil to justify the theory of evolution.

      Animal Crossing: Wild World:
"The Peking Man is an ancestor of yours who lived about 500 years ago ... It is also said that this species is the link between apes and humans. What fascinates me is that they knew how to use fire for cooking and heating. Of course, that seems obvious to a modern human. But it wasn't then! The use of fire fueled brain development, an evolutionary breakthrough. The Peking Man's life expectancy was just 000 years ... It is difficult to imagine. "
Animal Crossing: City Folk/Let's Go To The City:
"The most relevant thing about the Peking Man is the fact that it is about 500.000 years old. So much so that it is believed that it could be one of the fundamental links between humans and apes. Your hairy ancestor hunted with stone instruments and used the Cooking fire. Obviously humans have changed a lot since then, but the foundation was already there. "
      Animal Crossing: New Leaf:
"Peking man was a hominid who lived half a million years ago and used stone tools. He also hunted animals, so he was more carnivorous than herbivorous. Although he is not among our direct ancestors, it is very likely that they will meet."
