La Police station It is a small building that appears for the first time in Animal Crossing. The purpose of the commissary is to accommodate different Lost and Found, a service that stores items that may have been moved to a vacant space in the homes of the new Neighbors and the expansion of Tom Nook's store. The player can claim all the objects on display, free of charge. Up to twenty items can be stored in the commissary at a time, after which the oldest items will be thrown away to make room for the new ones. Objects are randomly generated, such as stationery, clothing, and furniture.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World and City Folk, the Police Station and the functionality of the Train Station merge and are replaced by the Town Gate. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the police station returns to make an appearance as an optional municipal project.

At Animal Crossing, the police station displays the Town's map on a blackboard outside and a small paved area around it. Vigilio will stay outside to give the player information about the events, while Nocencio will stay inside the building to help the player with the Lost and Found. Vigilio will thank the Player for visiting the police station after he leaves the building.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the police station is one of the Municipal Projects that cannot be eliminated. The police station can be requested by some random neighbor and costs 264,000 Berries. There are two models present for the police station, the modern police station which is based on the GameCube games police station managed by Vigilio and the classic police station with a new and original design managed by Nocencio. However, the mayor can only choose one of the models, which means that the player can only have either Vigilio or Nocencio, not both.

The police station is one of the only known ways to acquire a sneaky trap, the other is to get them off Tortimer Island. However, finding one on the island is rare.
Players visiting the Town may not take Lost and Found from the shelves at the Town Police Station.
If an object (any object is possible) is lying on the ground, and be it a new neighbor's house, a municipal project, or a special visitor (for example, Ladino's store, Katrina's tent, etc ... ) is configured on top of that object, it will be sent to the Lost and Found section.
