El River crab, known simply as crab before New Leaf (crawfish in English), is a crustacean that is commonly found in the pond between the months of April to mid-September, which is found at any time of the day. It gives Socrates the feeling of a bug, perhaps due to the appearance in Dōbutsu no Mori e + of the Common Crab.

Fishing
It has no complications. Just go looking around the ponds to see if there is any shade and it will be a Crab, a Killi or a Frog, although the frog will be heard croaking. As for the killi, it can be differentiated from the crab because the latter is larger than the former.

Population: on the rise!
This tiny being is related to the lobster. The tweezers are small, but very powerful, young man. Yes, he loves to pinch, we will take action to keep us both safe.
Wild world
I understand these critters are pretty easy to catch. I have never tried them. The truth is that they remind me of insects ...
City Folk/Let's Go to the City
Uhu ... I don't really like crabs very much. That because? Look at it ... it looks like a horrible bug! With those legs ... Have you noticed how many legs it has? It makes me nervous! And that segmented, insectoid body ...! It is absolutely horrendous!
New Leaf
These miniature lobsters live in such common places as streams and ponds. This is because they are very numerous and capable of eating practically anything. Interestingly, the shell changes color according to its eating habits. Blue indicates that they feed on fish and red that plants prefer, much more suitable.
New Horizons
Uhu! So you found a crayfish. Straddling a crab and a lobster, the evolution of this species has been very peculiar. Watch out for those clamps ... And look, how many legs! It reminds me of an insec ... The more I look at it, the more uncomfortable I feel ... What if we drop it and change the subject? - Socrates

Extra information
The Crayfish (Procambarus clarkii), also called the American crayfish, is a member of one of the three large freshwater crabs. There are other names such as lobster and they are known throughout the world in their respected territories.
The traditional fishing rod used is a simple branch tied with rope from a kite. The bait is tied at the end of the rope, and can consist of fish, sausage, or pasta. Adult crabs are generally too large for these methods, and a genuine shrimp rod is used for these.
