    Roblox studio

    Roblox studio is a development program developed by Roblox that offers a variety of coding and building tools to develop games for Roblox. Roblox staff can download preview versions of the suite.

    Expedient

    New place: open a new place

    Open Place - Opens an existing place on your computer. Find your place, click on it, then click "Open."

    Close Place - Close the current open place.

    Save: save the current open place. If the place does not have a location defined on your computer, it will request a location.

    Save As: saves the current open place, but will always ask for a location.

    Post to Roblox - After clicking this, choose a place to update. The place you put on the Roblox site will be identical to the area in your workspace.

    Save Selection As Model - Allows you to save the currently selected blocks to your computer. Location requests.

    Publish Selection as Model - Allows you to publish the currently selected blocks as a free model on the Roblox website, or replace an existing model with your selection.



    Print: Prints what is displayed on the screen to the printer of your choice.

    Print Preview: Shows a preview of what is displayed on the screen.

    Print Settings: Adjust the settings for your printing from Roblox.

    Recently Accessed Places - Links to open your recently opened places.

    Exit - Exits Roblox Studio.

    Select: select a part / model. Please note that very large pieces cannot be moved.

    Moves a part / model, but can only be moved in 6 preset directions.

    Scale: only change the size of the pieces. It can only scale in 6 preset directions.

    Rotate: rotate a part.

    Transform - Combine all of the above tools.

    Model

    Select: select a part / model. Please note that very large parts cannot be moved with this tool.

    Anchor: does not allow an object to be moved by an environmental force (the person editing the place is not an environmental force)

    Color - Change a part to be that color.

    Material: change the material.

    Union - Merge parts to create a union part.

    Negate: makes the selected part a negative part. When joined with another part, it will be subtracted from that part and create a join.


    Separate: separates the joining pieces.

    Surface

    Smooth - Applies the "smooth" surface to a facet of a block. The smooth surface does not secure one block to another.


    Glue: Applies the "glue" surface to one facet of a block. The surface of the glue bonds one block to another, but will break after a certain amount of stress is applied by a character or blast unless it is anchored.


    Weld - Applies the "weld" surface to one facet of a block. The weld surface joins one block to another and can only be broken by blasting unless it is anchored.

    Bolt - Applies the "bolt" surface to a facet of a block. The bolt surface only meets the entry surfaces. Joints can only be broken with bangs unless they are anchored.

    Lead - Applies the "lead" surface to a facet of a block. The entry surface only joins the stud surfaces. Joints can only be broken with bangs unless they are anchored.

    Universal - Applies the "universal" surface to the face of a block. Universal surface attaches to both studs and inputs. Joints can only be broken with bangs unless they are anchored.

    Hinge - Applies the "hinge" surface to a facet of a block. Anything on a hinged surface, except glued or welded blocks, can rotate freely on the hinge until the joints break. Joints can only be broken with bangs unless they are anchored.

    Motor: Applies the surface of the "motor" to the face of a block. Anything on the surface of the engine, except glued or welded blocks, will constantly rotate on the engine until the gaskets break. Joints can only be broken with bangs unless they are anchored.


    Land

    Spawn - Spawn random terrain.

    Add - Add terrain.

    Subtract: remove terrain.

    Paint: paint the terrain.

    Grow: add terrain in a smoother way.

    Erode - Gently removes terrain.

    Soft - smooths hard edges. This will create "ridges", which you can get rid of using the erode tool.

    Regions - An easy option to add, copy, paste, delete, select, move, resize, rotate, and fill the terrain.
